Killian opened his eyes and looked around. Where was he? Who was he? What was he? He asked himself. The last thing he remember was fighting for his life as he was being chased by a zombie king. Then, he felt his whole body being torn apart. God, that hurt.
He was shocked when he saw that he was in his old office. The one before the world went to shit. People lost their minds. Greed got the best of them. He was not spared, he thought he was on top of the world. Ha. What a joke.
He was betrayed by his own girlfriend and family. They dared to kick him out of his own home after taking his supplies. His girlfriend Sasha was having an affair with his own cousin. How cliche! Did they think this was some damn novel? She pretended to love him, wanting to get close to him and marry him. Steal his shares to his own company and then divorce and remarry his cousin. What a grand plan they had. Once the apocalypse came, they relied on him to collect supplies and make it to the base.
*ring ring*
His phone rang, he looked at it and laughed. He was back. Back to the past, a few days before the end started.
*ring ring*
"Kill, you finally answered your phone! What took you so long!" Sasha said.
"I'm busy working Sasha, what do you need? Why are you pestering me so early in the morning?" Killian responded. Sasha was not sure if she was hearing right. His voice sounded so cold, you could hear the distance in his tone.
"Umm.. Are you okay? You sound...a bit upset. Did someone make you angry so early? I was just calling because I needed to make a few purchases and wanted to know if you can transfer me some money."
'So unbelievable' he thought.
"No, I am not sending you any more money, not now or in the future. I meant to tell you in person but we are breaking up. I am fully aware of you and Chris. Do give him my regards" he said.
"Kill, what are you talking about? Chris? I do not understand?" Sasha said, Killian could swear he could hear her flustered.
'Better to get this over with now, why wait till later? Why would I want revenge. Let nature take it's course' he thought. He was a firm believer of 'what goes around, comes around'. He did not need to get his hands dirty, let others do that for him.
Sasha was still trying to explain when he disconnected her call. He blocked her number and all his family members involved in his death. He wont be helping them at all. Just as he was going to call his secretary he heard a knock.
"Enter" he said. Penelope Wolfe walked in with documents in her hand. It took him a second to process what was happening. She was alive. Last he heard was that she died during a supply hunt. The news was heartbreaking, he really did appreciate this assistant of his. She did her job well and kept to herself. No faults could be found with her. 'Should I warn her?' he thought. 'If I mention anything, she might think I am insane.'
