"A date. I want you to honor me with a date."
"What??"
As soon as she heard his words, her eyes widened incredulously.
Everyone else looked towards them, attracted by her startled reaction.
She immediately hushed her voice and whispered to Aren. "Sir Aren, I'm a married woman with a son. Why would you want to go on a date with someone like me?"
She expected him to become disinterested as soon as he found out about her marriage and son, but he remained unfazed, not even surprised.
With a smile, he replied. "I'm not forcing you to accept. You asked me what I wanted in return for helping you, and I told you. Now the decision is yours to make. Are you willing to grant me my request in exchange for my help?"
He then watched her reluctant and conflicted expression with an amused smile as her mind began scrambling on what to do.
