CESTAF:
Travelling across countries with a giant dragon was cause for an overwhelming amount of attention, who would've thought. Villages evacuated, the military was assembled, and word spread like wildfire. Not fast enough, though, as we left Neon Republic that same day, Bella is incredibly fast; that's my girl.
Still, we hid in the clouds for good measure.
In yunas words, we were safe the moment we crossed into the next kingdom. At this point i'm already trusting them, so no need to argue. At the break of dawn, we descended from the clouds onto an opening in a forest. This land of green was perched atop a mountain, overlooking a city. The city was much bigger than any other city I had ever seen; it dwarfed them, in fact.
I need to set time out to explore this place.
Our landing spot was an open grass field with a building planted into a mountain's back at its end. A noble building, it looked so nice. Even better than the manor we had just fought in, from its odd structure to its design to the fact that half of it was attached to a mountain. This place is cool.
Yuna and others wasted no time leading Maya to the building, but Yuna stopped to address I and Bella.
"This is our base, come, you will be seeing our leader. He will be the one who will decide your fate."
"What about Bella?" Come to think of it, no alarms or battle horns have been blown since we descended. Does no one care about a dragon, no, as they said, an elder dragon. Does no one care about that here?
Using her right hand, Yuna waved me off. "Don't worry about that. As long as she doesn't go destroying things. She is safe here."
"Oh, so no one does care."
"Please come with me," she said, turning her back to walk inside.
I gotta tell Bella all the good news. I turned to her, but I saw her tail wagging furiously; she already knows, huh? Honestly, I think she understands Adamic; maybe that's why she didn't attack them back at the manor.
I couldnt help but smile to think we'd find a place where we both belong. I'm glad.
"Listen here bella, I will be back soon, okay? So stay put and make yourself at home. It is our new home afterall"
She puffed hot air from her nose in response.
"Okay, will be back soon."
Whatever happens i need to make sure we can stay here and find something to do with our lives.
*******
Surprisingly, they didn't strip me of my sword. I walked in as I had always been there.
Inside, it felt cozy. It has a cream colour with shades of white and pink, pretty flowers hung on the wall and majestic paintings of what look like significant figures scattered all over.
As we walked through the many paths and hallways in this place, I found more and more paintings. This place is bigger than it looks
Back to the paintings i have no idea who these people are. One of those paintings depicted a family: a family portrait of a man, his wife, his daughter, and another man. They looked like the highest class of nobility out there, but there was someone else.
This part of the painting looks worn out and damaged, but if you look carefully, you can see it. Behind the husband was a man holding his shoulder. He was dressed in an all-black outfit, with blood-red hair and eyes.
In the painting, he stared at the husband with a small grin.
"What is this painting…"
"That is not for you to know, don't be asking questions when you're not even one of us," Siri said, pushing me onwards.
"Jeez, what's your problem? That wasn't necessary."
"The lord awaits—ahh!" with a punch to his arm, Remen had successfully shut Siri up.
"Don't be like that, siri" Remen said as he put his arm over Siri's shoulder and was immediately met with a glare by Siri.
They were about to start bickering when Yuna turned around and glared at all of us. With that, silence fell again. I glanced at maya and her eyes were dead, devoid of any light. I wonder how she is feeling right now.
