No One's Pov
The air in the living room still feels heavy, charged with the kiss that just broke. Viella sits on the couch, her lips tingling and swollen, the taste of him lingering like a drug. Her mind spinning unable to grasp the surface of reality.
Before she can draw a full breath or blink away the haze in her eyes, Dante moves.
He doesn't ask, he simply takes. One arm slides behind her knees, the other hooks around her back, and in one fluid motion, he lifts her from the cushions.
She gasps, her hands instantly clutching at the collar of his shirt, but he holds her effortlessly against his chest. The world tilts. The ceiling becoming blur above them as he carries her across the room and up the staircase.
Each step he takes, Viella realizes what's about to come. Her face becomes more flushed. Viella's heart pounding so loudly she's sure he can hear it.
