"Hngh.... Where... Am i?" Kaien woke up. he was lying on a bed inside a modern looking room with noone in sight
"What happened..." The memories from the prior day resurfaced "oh... What was that thing actually?... some kind of spirit?"
Kaien, still confused, gets up from the bed and stretches, looking down at himself.
His bruises are completely gone, and his clothes have been replaced into long white trousers and a white hoodie, something he was not wearing prior to the incident.
The clothes also seemed to have some weird feeling about them, as if they were superpowered, or just cursed.
"Weird..."
"Weird indeed!" An unfamiliar voice broke through Kaien's thoughts, scaring him to his core
"Kyaaaa?!?!" He shouted, his heart almost jumping out of his body.
He looked towards the source of the sound and there sat a figure on a chair, dressed in the same, albeit a bit more classy, clothes.
They, or rather, he, had white hair and golden eyes. Ethereal beauty is something he could be considered to have.
"W-woah... Uh, who are you exactly, mister?" Kaien asked, still as careful as ever
The figure stood up and walked up.
"Im nuroshito kamoto!" Kamoto said
"Nuroshito...? Isnt that something like a japanese surname or something?"
Kamoto silenced kaien
"Dont judge names when your own sounds like the pepper[1]"
Kaien was hurt.
After some explanations my Kamoto
"Huh... so you're telling me a weird ass being crossed from the being and by some chance i was there to be attacked by it?" Kaien asked.
"That is the case" Kamoto answered
"And if that wasnt already much, i awakened some weird godly power that was sealed within me because of that thing?"
"It's called a 'crosser' but yeah, you basically understood it all"
"THAT MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE THOUGH?!" Kaien exclaimed
"Duh, why would it" Kamoto added "Anyways you saw it yourself, you cant exactly say something makes 'no sense' after seeing it..."
"Oh... fair enough i guess"
Crossers. interdimensional beings that appeared on earth approximately 4000 years ago.
They are beings that feed on human's fear and powerlesness. When a human is close to giving up, they can be tracked by the crosses.
Crossers can also kill bypassers who havent shown such fears, thought rifts ussualy only appear in low-population areas.
They are split into categories, ranking from weak to strong
Grade X: Weaker than humans
Grade IX: Can cause injuries, but can be dealt with an average human using a bat
Grade VIII: Stronger than your average person, guns are effective
Grade VII: Cannot be hurt by handguns, mostly a training dummy for 'Hunters'
Grade VI: non-experienced hunters are advised to stay away. Can cause severe damage to buildings
Grade V: Often Intelligent, they can use techniques like hunters do
Grade IV: The heavy hitters, can destroy large buildings. Military has a hard time dealing with them
Grade III: Highly intelligent and humanoid, can easily destroy city blocks
Grade II: Are incredibly hard to subjuguate, nuclear bombs are mostly used to deal with them. They cant immediatly cross over to earth from rifts as they rifts wil collapse and kill them
Grade I: Continental level threates, very rarely seen, Could destroy entire continents if not careful
Grade 0: Unknown, possibly planetary level destruction. May be the cause for distant planets and starts dissapearing. Only one has been ever seen, but it got bored of earth and left
"I think i got the gist of it" Kaien says to Kamoto after being explained
"The one you encountered could be considerred a grade VI, youre lucky you had that power in you" Said Kamoto
"I see... Um, what do i do with this information?"
"You go to school!" Kamoto shouts excitedly
