Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Beating Kaecilius in Front of Everyone...

Mirror Dimension.

Kaecilius stood suspended in midair, his expression extremely ugly.

Only after a long while did he finally speak.

"You figured it out long ago? And you pretended you didn't know on purpose?"

"You're laughing at me, Master Sorcerer Kaecilius."

"Just like you said—how could I possibly not have noticed?"

"After all, you're a Master Sorcerer."

Karl spoke calmly.

Deep down, Karl actually admired Kaecilius quite a bit.

This move of his was practically forcing others to flip their hand over.

How would ordinary people understand how terrifying Dormammu was?

Following Dormammu to obtain "eternal life" was not eternal life at all—it was torment.

Most people didn't know that.

So Kaecilius's whole set of rhetoric still had a lot of appeal.

It was just unlucky that he ran into Karl.

Hearing Karl's words, Kaecilius's face darkened even further.

"I'm very curious—how did you get the news out?"

Kaecilius clenched his fists as he asked.

"Of course it's because of the Mirror Dimension spell."

"Don't tell me you don't know this: once the Mirror Dimension is mastered to a high tier, it's enough to override someone else's Mirror Dimension—even seize control from the guest and become the host."

Karl answered evenly.

"Your Mirror Dimension has actually reached that level?"

Kaecilius's mouth twitched.

He was a Master Sorcerer—of course he knew that was possible.

The Mirror Dimension was an extremely powerful spell.

As long as it was mastered to a certain degree, you could alter another person's Mirror Dimension, even turn the tables completely.

If the Ancient One were here, he wouldn't be surprised in the slightest.

But…

Karl?

Why?!

He was an apprentice sorcerer—what right did he have to surpass Kaecilius in mastery of the Mirror Dimension?

Just because he was a genius?

Even geniuses weren't this freakish!

In just a little over a year of cultivation, his strength had reached such a level.

If he were allowed to cultivate at Kamar-Taj for a while longer, wouldn't he become a second Sorcerer Supreme?

Then Kaecilius's grand undertaking would never be achieved!

No!

He could not allow that to happen!

This boy absolutely cannot be left alive!

Kaecilius narrowed his eyes, calculating in silence.

Karl looked at Kaecilius and sighed inwardly.

"Master Sorcerer Kaecilius, why do you have to make things complicated?"

"Wouldn't it be better to just surrender and let yourself be captured?"

"I really don't want to fight."

Karl said helplessly.

"Heh."

"Blocking the path of the great Dormammu—today, you will die for sure!"

Kaecilius said coldly.

"Why don't you go say that to the Sorcerer Supreme?"

Karl retorted.

"You!"

Kaecilius's eyes widened—he was instantly furious.

This brat…

He really isn't a decent person!

"Sharp-tongued little brat!"

"Go die!"

Kaecilius roared in rage.

He slashed both hands through the air—

A massive Rift-Cleaving Blade formed in his grasp.

With a single step, Kaecilius crossed dozens of meters and appeared right in front of Karl.

He thrust the Rift-Cleaving Blade straight at Karl.

"Master Sorcerer, sneaking an attack isn't something a proper person should do."

Karl said one sentence.

His body slid backward, dodging the lethal strike.

A transparent sheen surfaced in his hand, and he flicked upward in one smooth motion.

Kaecilius's face turned pale.

But he was no ordinary opponent—he was a Master Sorcerer with rich combat experience.

His body twisted unnaturally, like rubber.

He narrowly avoided Karl's deadly counter.

At the same time, he put force into both arms, swinging the enormous Rift-Cleaving Blade in a wide sweep at the surroundings.

If that slash landed, the result would be being split cleanly into two.

Karl seized the Rift-Cleaving Blade with both hands and swung forward—

The two Rift-Cleaving Blades collided head-on.

Clang!

A piercing shockwave burst outward from the two of them.

Kaecilius's expression changed.

Karl—this guy—had just learned the spell, yet its power was not much weaker than his?

A cold glint flashed in Kaecilius's eyes.

Without another word, he struck again with the Rift-Cleaving Blade.

Clang!

Clang!

In just a few seconds, their Rift-Cleaving Blades collided more than a hundred times!

All kinds of grating screeches rang through the air.

"Hah!"

Kaecilius abruptly retreated, panting heavily.

He felt something warm flow from his nostrils.

He wiped with his hand—blood, all of it.

Kaecilius's pupils shrank.

That was the massive sonic shock from the collisions—his body had been injured by it.

But Karl on the other side…

He was still calm and composed, as if nothing had happened.

He wasn't affected at all!

This brat really is a monster!

Kaecilius's pupils constricted again.

Even so, he still had no intention of giving up.

He chanted an incantation in his mouth, and a streak of white-gold lightning shot from his hand.

That lightning carried astonishing force, tearing the ground into a mess as it drove straight at Karl.

Kaecilius lunged after it.

Karl handled it with ease.

With the Rift-Cleaving Blade in hand, he lifted and picked—

Several bolts of white-gold lightning shattered on the spot.

Right as he split one bolt—

Kaecilius's figure burst out, diving in close.

Karl had already anticipated it.

He gripped the blade with both hands and brought it down in a heavy cleave.

Clang!!

That harsh sound exploded again.

Crack!

A fracture line appeared on Kaecilius's Rift-Cleaving Blade—

Then it shattered violently.

Fragments of space flew outward, carving a cut across Kaecilius's face.

Yet he seemed to not notice it at all.

His eyes were filled with shock.

This…

This brat…

His Rift-Cleaving Blade was actually harder than Kaecilius's?

More condensed?

Why?!

On the path of spatial magic, Kaecilius had immersed himself for decades.

He understood every kind of power extremely clearly.

And Karl?

Kaecilius had literally just taught him this spell a moment ago.

Why could Karl overpower him?

Why was the spatial structure of Karl's Rift-Cleaving Blade more stable than Kaecilius's—even though Karl was a beginner?

How was that supposed to make any sense?!

What the hell is this kid?!

Kaecilius stared at Karl, his mind surging like a stormy sea.

He was starting to doubt—

Back then, was the Sorcerer Supreme this freakish?

Kaecilius took a deep look at Karl.

With a wave of his hand, a massive bolt of white-gold lightning lashed out, forcing Karl to halt.

Kaecilius didn't hesitate.

He waved open a Portal and stepped straight through.

"Running because you can't win—this isn't a good habit."

Karl shook his head.

Without hesitation, he sensed it out, then—

Along Kaecilius's spatial passage, he waved his hand.

A spatial Portal opened directly.

He stepped through in a single stride.

Outside, the sorcerers watching all of this—

Stared with their mouths agape.

As if they had witnessed a myth.
