Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: We're on the Same Side

Wu Zhangkong and the others had already finished their battles nearby.

Quietly watching the two finish their fight, Wu Zhangkong's eyes flashed with a sharp light; Gu Yue had made great progress.

He was all too aware of the oppressive feeling Arthur gave off during combat—a powerful force that lacked any hint of mundane Qi yet could instantly lock down all of an enemy's paths of retreat.

It was already impressive that Gu Yue could hold her own for a few moves.

"It doesn't seem like Gu Yue is acting," Arthur thought quickly. He could tell she was doing her best; it seemed she really didn't know any Physical Arts.

Coming back to his senses, Arthur suddenly realized that his and Gu Yue's posture was a bit intimate.

When his gaze fell upon their overlapping forms, his breath hitched.

His palm was still subconsciously gripping Gu Yue's wrist, the delicate sensation transmitting through his fingertips.

Gu Yue's body was slightly tilted, her hair brushing against his shoulder, carrying a faint, light scent.

Those ethereal eyes were now inches away.

With a hint of mischief in her eyes, Gu Yue was about to tilt her head up to get even closer.

"Whoa—" the onlookers exclaimed in unison.

Just then, an incredulous voice suddenly rang out.

"What are you doing!"

Looking toward the source of the voice, a silver-haired young girl stood at the entrance of the field... For Na'er, today was clearly supposed to be a very happy day.

Not only was she able to see the Arthur she had missed for so long, but she was also about to reclaim the power of the Golden Dragon King.

But why?

After arriving at East Sea Academy and learning from the Principal that Arthur was in Class Zero along with the location, Na'er had rushed over impatiently.

But what did she see as soon as she arrived?

Arthur was pinning Gu Yue down!

They were almost about to kiss!

Na'er was furious; that was clearly supposed to be her position.

It had been since three years ago!

"This naturally evil Gu Yue, I'll personally..."

A Dragon-shaped phantom glowing with golden light flashed behind her for a moment. Carrying a terrifying aura, Na'er leaped up and smashed down heavily.

Na'er descended from the sky, her expression furious and fierce!

Golden light illuminated the entire training ground. The Dragon-shaped phantom behind Na'er bared its fangs, carrying the pressure of immense power, making even the air hum and vibrate.

The expressions of the onlookers changed abruptly, and they subconsciously retreated. Wu Zhangkong didn't move; there was no Killing Intent coming from the silver-haired girl.

Without time to think, Arthur and Gu Yue instantly scrambled up and retreated.

Immediately after, Na'er smashed down violently.

With a dull "thud," cracks exploded where Na'er landed, and debris went flying.

"Wait! Na'er, let's talk this out." Although they hadn't seen each other for three years, Arthur recognized who this silver-haired girl was at a glance.

He still didn't understand why Na'er would suddenly attack.

Could it be that she's grown up now and wants to take revenge for being tricked into being a mount back then? But I let her ride me back too, didn't I?

While his thoughts were racing, Na'er spoke: "Brother Art, move aside!"

"Damnable Gu Yue, only one of us can live today!"

She knew Gu Yue planned to woo Arthur to bind him as a subordinate through emotions. However, Na'er hadn't taken it seriously. After all, Gu Yue had even given her all of her human emotions; what could she possibly achieve?

She hadn't expected Gu Yue could actually go this far.

This wasn't just any love rival; she had to strike hard!

"Oh?" Arthur looked at Gu Yue hiding behind him, then at the furious and fierce Na'er. He suddenly understood. "So you're saying your attack wasn't aimed at me?"

"Of course, my target has always been Gu Yue."

"You should have said so earlier." Without a hint of hesitation, Arthur decisively stepped aside, revealing Gu Yue behind him.

I love watching women fight the most.

Gu Yue, hiding behind him, was caught off guard and was stared down by Na'er's burning gaze.

Though there was surprise in her eyes, there wasn't a hint of panic. Gu Yue stood up straight and raised her eyes to meet Na'er's.

"I can't think of a reason for you to attack me." Gu Yue was indeed puzzled. Wasn't Na'er here to help her reclaim the Golden Dragon King? Why was she attacking her instead?

"Hmph." Na'er's voice lacked the sweetness it had at the Spirit Pagoda Headquarters: "Brother Art is mine!"

Oho!

The onlookers couldn't help but lean back.

Even Wu Zhangkong was surprised. It was actually because of this?

"Just this?"

Feeling Na'er's intense possessiveness, Gu Yue became even more confused. She couldn't yet understand this kind of thinking.

"Then you shouldn't have attacked even more."

"You like Arthur, and I like Arthur too. Shouldn't we be on the same side?"

As soon as Gu Yue said this, the training ground became so quiet that one could hear the sound of heartbeats.

Several envious gazes fell on Arthur. Arthur helplessly spread his hands; he hadn't expected Gu Yue to be such a Divine Being.

Her clenched fists paused, and Na'er suddenly smiled with relief.

Why am I competing with a silly Dragon who just lost her emotions?

Sighing, Na'er lowered her fists.

The tense atmosphere suddenly dissipated.

Gu Yue felt it was bizarre, clearly not understanding how this person who was full of Life Qi a second ago suddenly relaxed. She lamented in her heart: "As expected, cutting Na'er out was the right choice."

"This behavior is too strange."

It seemed everything was fine now. Seeing this, Arthur felt a bit disappointed.

They actually didn't fight.

If Na'er and Gu Yue really had a fight, that would have been truly exciting to think about.

"You're all here." Yu Zhen walked in; he was here to inform Wu Zhangkong that Class Zero was getting a new member.

But as soon as he stepped inside, the strange atmosphere made him pause.

A silver-haired girl stood in the center, while a girl in green had an indifferent expression.

Arthur was peeking around from the side, and several others were huddled in a corner with wandering gazes.

It seemed a bit bad... after all, there were quite a few second-generation kids in this Class Zero.

The nephew of the Dragon Sparrow Douluo, Wu Zhangkong from Shrek, Gu Yue with her mysterious background, and Na'er from the Spirit Pagoda Headquarters who seemed to have a big shot behind her.

With a group like this together, if something really happened, Yu Zhen definitely wouldn't want to bear the responsibility, nor could he.

Squinting slightly, Yu Zhen's years of experience as a Principal made him sense that something was off.

He had originally planned to take the opportunity to watch the Class Zero students' training.

Now, it was better to slip away quickly.

"Teacher Wu, this Young Miss Na'er is a new member of Class Zero."

"Alright, the academy has been quite busy lately. Since I've finished the announcement, I'll head back first."

Coming and going quickly, Yu Zhen immediately disappeared.

"Cough, cough." Wu Zhangkong was the first to break the silence.

He withdrew his gaze from the doorway and scanned the people in the field, his tone still its usual coldness: "Since it's the academy's arrangement, then join the ranks."

His gaze swept past Gu Yue's calm profile, Arthur's indifferent expression, and finally landed on Na'er.

He added calmly: "Class Zero doesn't keep idle people. Starting tomorrow, you will train with the others."

Na'er immediately took half a step forward, getting closer to Arthur, her voice regaining some of its usual sweetness: "Thank you, teacher!"

Xie Xie and the others cast curious glances from time to time.

Although she had only attacked once, anyone with eyes could see Na'er's strength just now.

Whether it was that powerful Dragon-shaped Martial Soul or the cracked floor, both spoke of her terrifying power.

Only Tang Wulin had no reaction. From the moment Na'er appeared, that... according to Old Tang's words, the power of the Golden Dragon King within him had been restless.

Furthermore, after absorbing the first Seal, Old Tang hadn't given him any further response.

Tang Wulin felt an inexplicable sense of unease in his heart.
