This is an epoch following the twilight shared by a precursor civilization and the existence known as 'Divinity-Stardust Life'. Humanity endeavors to reconstruct a second generation of civilization, phasing out bygone ideologies—no, to be precise, replacing them. The Age of Steam: Steel bellows, heavy artillery thunders, and riveted warships plow through the high seas. The Age of Electricity: Electric lights glimmer, airships drift, and drones swarm like bees. And then, the resplendent dawn of the Atom. The Age of Enlightenment: Capital churns, while society wavers between the cybernetic and the socialized; as new currents of thought, new armaments, and new tactics emerge. The Age of Planetary Navigation: Battleship controllers, pilots of nuclear-powered interplanetary fighters, and planetary surface commanders. Yet, whither shall the vast majority of common folk go? The Era of the Grand Horologe: In a natural state, human life spans but two centuries. Yet for a humanity now possessing lifespans of thousands, even myriads of years—with what bearing shall they confront the boundless cosmos? …… Alas, behind technological advancement lies humanism, and every stride in culture demands a price. A civilization unable to shoulder this cost is destined to stagnate. May the world show greater tolerance for 'tender new growth'.
