After struggling internally for a long time, she finally squeezed out two words through gritted teeth: "superior..."

The word escaped almost by accident.

The moment it left her lips, Yana Tyson froze.

Time seemed to stop.

Even the faint breeze drifting through the open training hall windows appeared to pause for a heartbeat.

Her orange eyes widened.

Then her beautiful face instantly turned crimson.

"What did I just say?"

A wave of embarrassment crashed into her.

She had spent so much effort refusing to call him anything remotely respectful, yet after all that resistance, she had somehow called him "superior."

The worst part was that Julian D'Aurelius had clearly heard it.

Yana wished she could dig a hole in the ground and bury herself inside it.

"It's only to get back to training sooner."

"When I'm healed, I won't bother with this jerk!"

She silently comforted herself.

That was right.
