A painful groan escaped his lips.
His entire body trembled faintly, as though countless invisible creatures were crawling beneath his skin.
The suffering was obvious.
Yet the instant he saw Julian step into the room...
Hope appeared in his tired eyes.
His dim gaze brightened.
"Nephew Julian..."
His weak voice carried obvious relief.
"You're finally here."
"I'll have to trouble you with my illness today."
Julian immediately walked to the bedside with a reassuring smile.
"Uncle Dario, you're being far too polite."
He sat beside the bed naturally.
"How are you feeling now?"
Dario let out a long, weary sigh.
"It hurts..."
"So much."
He slowly closed his eyes.
"It feels as though countless tiny insects are biting me from inside."
"The pain never truly stops."
"It's... unbearable."
His breathing became uneven before he forced another faint smile.
Then he looked toward Julian with hopeful eyes.
