Chapter 60 - OUTRO

Jay's POV

The house was quiet.

Not the heavy kind of quiet I grew up with. Not the dangerous kind. Not the kind that made you listen for footsteps or whispers or threats.

This was a different quiet.

A warm one. A lived‑in one. A quiet filled with memories instead of fear.

I stood by the window, watching the sun sink behind the trees, painting the sky in soft gold. The laughter of my children drifted in from outside — Keira's calm voice trying to keep the twins from climbing the fence, Kayden ignoring her completely, Kade pretending he wasn't the one who started it.

And behind me—

Arms slid around my waist.

Warm. Familiar. Home.

Keifer rested his chin on my shoulder. "Thinking?" he murmured.

"Always," I said softly.

He kissed the side of my head. "About what?"

I leaned back into him, letting his warmth settle around me.

"Everything," I whispered. "Where we started. Where we ended up. How we somehow survived all of it."

He tightened his arms around me, pulling me closer.

"We didn't just survive," he said quietly. "We built something."

I smiled.

Because he was right.

We built a life. A family. A future we never thought we'd get.

Keira called from outside, "MOM! DAD! The twins are fighting again!"

Keifer groaned. "Of course they are."

I laughed. "Go. Your sons need you."

He kissed my cheek before stepping away. "Our sons," he corrected.

I watched him walk outside — watched the way the twins immediately ran to him, watched the way Keira rolled her eyes but smiled anyway, watched the way he scooped both boys up like they weighed nothing.

My heart swelled.

This was my life.

Not chaos. Not fear. Not running.

Just love. Just laughter. Just home.

Keifer looked back at me from the yard, eyes soft, the same way he looked at me the day he proposed, the day we married, the day each of our children were born.

The same way he always looked at me.

Like I was his beginning and his ending.

I stepped outside, joining them, letting the noise and warmth wrap around me.

And for the first time in my life—

I didn't wonder what came next.

Because I already knew.

Everything we fought for… led us here. And this? This is our forever.
