Chapter 1 - …Is this a punishment, or a reward?

The sky was burning.

As if hell itself had descended upon the earth.

Kaito Yukimura stood silently at the center of a battlefield drowned in explosions and screams, his black coat fluttering in the violent wind. Before him, the enemy army had fallen into utter panic, cornered by three women. Each of them radiated overwhelming power and authority—like true queens.

"By order of Her Excellency, we shall eliminate them all without exception," Adelheid declared in an icy voice.

Dressed in a flawless military uniform, a single motion of her hand and a gaze cold enough to freeze blood were enough to make her spectral army roar and charge forward.

"Rusty scraps of metal! Did you really think you could lay a finger on our commander?" Naporia mocked as she leapt lightly from a cliff.

Every time she swung her sword, allied troops rearranged themselves like chess pieces.

Her voice was an order; her mere presence, the embodiment of domination.

Further back, shrouded in chains and mist, Lilith calmly whispered "names."

Each time her voice reached an enemy, they froze—forgetting why they were there…

and what they were even fighting for.

Kaito watched the scene in silence.

He wasn't fighting. There was no need.

Because they were fighting for him.

And yet, doubt clung tightly to his chest.

> "…Since when did I lose control of this?"

---

Hours earlier… or perhaps months ago.

Even that had become unclear.

Kaito Yukimura, seventeen years old.

An ordinary high school student.

A boy with an abnormal fascination for world history—especially the so-called "Dark Ages."

His room had been filled with forbidden books, military strategy treatises, and chess pieces shaped like infamous historical dictators.

One ordinary day, the world suddenly vanished.

Wrapped in a blinding light, he awoke in a golden throne room.

He found himself surrounded by nobles staring at him with open contempt.

"Is this the hero we summoned?" scoffed an obese king.

"He has no magic, no aura, no manners… Completely useless."

In Kaito's hands were black leather gloves.

Inside them lay several faded cards—relics with no explanation, nothing more than aged fragments.

> —Summoning Gloves.

—Said to house legendary power.

But no one saw any value in them.

"A failure," they declared—and he was exiled.

Outside the castle, he starved, ate roots, hid in caves,

and desperately researched the meaning of those cards that "refused to react."

Until one day, one of them began to emit scorching heat.

The card was pitch black, stained with soot.

On its reverse was the symbol of an iron rose and a twisted swastika.

The title read:

> "Adelheid: Führerin of Collapse"

And then—she appeared.

Elegant. Lethal.

A woman capable of killing without ever wiping the smile from her face.

"I have been waiting for you, Commander Kaito."

"…Waiting? Who are you?"

"I am the First Queen. One of the villains sealed by the gods for being 'too dangerous.'

Hands stained by history were the ones that freed us."

From that moment on, the cards began to awaken—one by one.

Sealed women—monsters who had once made the world tremble—were reborn in human form.

All of them swore absolute loyalty to Kaito.

But why?

Even he did not yet fully understand the reason.

---

And now, on the battlefield—

Kaito pressed the gloves against his chest, feeling a burning pulse.

It was the reaction of the active cards.

"Commander," Adelheid reported upon returning.

"The conquest of the Kingdom of Melchior is complete. We await your next orders."

"Do we advance directly toward the capital?" Naporia asked, still drunk on battle.

"Or perhaps…" Lilith whispered in a voice colder than ice,

"do we erase the memory of their very existence?"

Kaito gazed over the battlefield.

Then at the three villains standing before him.

Beings capable of destroying a kingdom with a single command.

Born from human hatred.

And now—at his service.

He took a deep breath.

> "I have no magic, no talent. Only… this 'archive of cursed souls.'

If this wasn't a mistake, but the result of being 'chosen'…

then perhaps… I, too, belong on the same side as them."

Kaito smiled.

His shadow stretched far beyond his own height.

"We advance to the next kingdom."

"Yes, Commander."

The three voices answered in unison.

Thus began the story of Kaito—

the boy who summoned the Villains of the End.
