Alex browsed through the newly updated items in the shop and shook his head, feeling that these items were not very useful.
Unless they were used to form a battle armor squad, otherwise, to him personally, they were just oversized toys.
Besides, he already had the more powerful "Tyrant." He truly had no interest in these things.
Closing the shop, Alex suddenly accelerated, leaving a faint afterimage across the sky as he shot toward the distance.
In the blink of an eye, he arrived at St. George Military Medical Center.
Alex landed right outside the hospital entrance, startling everyone around him.
It took people a moment to react.
"Homelander!"
"It's Homelander!"
Whether medical staff or patients, they all rushed over at once and surrounded Alex.
Inside the hospital lobby, a reporter from New York TV's AAB turned to look outside, then said to the camera crew behind him,
"Quick, Homelander is here. Let's get an exclusive interview."
They hurried out, squeezed through the crowd, and came in front of Alex.
The reporter held the microphone toward him, "Homelander, may I ask why you've come to St. George Military Medical Center?"
Alex smiled and did not refuse to answer, "I'm here to visit Private Levin."
"Oh, did you see the news about him on television?", the reporter quickly asked.
Alex nodded and walked toward the entrance.
At that moment, Ashley finally arrived. Seeing that Homelander was already heading inside, she quickly followed.
The reporter continued, "Homelander, some people believe that since you were already in Manhattan last night, you should have stepped in earlier to stop Mr. Z."
"If that had happened, perhaps Manhattan's losses wouldn't have been so severe."
With his hands behind his back, Alex walked and smiled, "I guess the people raising these questions are the same ones who call me a 'cape bastard.'"
"They're never satisfied."
"Also, I think everyone remembers that a certain colonel once said that incidents like this should be handled by more professional people."
"I agree with that."
Alex flashed a bright smile and raised a finger, "In fact, at the beginning, I even thought it was a reality show."
"A live-action crisis response show jointly organized by Olga Company and the military."
"So I didn't step in rashly. That would've made people dislike me, wouldn't it?"
"Only when the Federation contacted me directly did I realize how serious the situation was. That it wasn't a reality show."
"Olga Company's proud intelligent battle armor was hijacked. Unbelievable."
"I even thought I might be able to retire."
Alex winked at the camera.
The AAC reporter had sharp news instincts and immediately asked, "Homelander, are you implying that the Federation felt unable to resolve the matter and therefore sought your help?"
Alex laughed lightly, "I can only say that they hoped I would stop Mr. Z."
"We're here."
He stopped in front of a hospital room.
It was Private Levin's room.
Alex knocked lightly on the door before pushing it open and walking in. The brown-haired, green-eyed young soldier was staring blankly at the ceiling.
When he heard the door open and looked over, and his eyes reflected Alex's figure, a faint light slowly returned to Levin's gaze.
"Homelander?"
For a moment, Levin thought he was dreaming. He could not believe Homelander had come into his hospital room.
Alex nodded slightly while scanning Levin's condition. Just as the TV had said, this young man was basically finished.
With his hands behind his back, he walked to the bedside and sighed, "I won't say nonsense like you're the real hero. That kind of empty comfort won't make you stand up again."
"All I can say is that I'll provide you with the best medical resources and see if we can improve your condition as much as possible."
Gratitude welled up in Levin's eyes. He reached out excitedly.
Alex took both his hands.
Click! Click!
Camera shutters sounded all around. Other media outlets had heard that Homelander was visiting the hospital and rushed over.
At that moment, one reporter squeezed forward and said, "Homelander, this soldier was injured because of Queen Maeve."
"So shouldn't Queen Maeve be the one visiting Mr. Levin?"
"Why are you the one here?"
Another reporter stepped forward, "Homelander, every year many civilians are injured because of superheroes."
"Some even die."
"Not long ago, A-Train ran into and killed a pedestrian."
"For these people, don't you think superheroes should apologize?"
Alex smiled faintly.
He turned around.
First, he answered the first reporter's question.
"I'm not here on behalf of Maeve."
"I represent only myself."
"As for Maeve, unfortunately, she was injured and temporarily cannot get out of bed."
He then looked at the second reporter.
"Can an apology solve the problem?"
"I believe that instead of apologizing, we should face the issue directly."
"So I announce that Vought will establish a special fund to help those who have been injured because of superheroes."
Alex looked at the Private behind him, "Mr. Levin will be the first beneficiary."
In the hospital room, Ashley's mouth fell open.
'What fund? Why haven't I heard about this?'
'Wait! Does the company know about this?'
'Does the CEO know? Shouldn't we at least inform Mr. Edgar first?'
A string of questions popped up in the assistant's mind.

[That Night, Chinatown]
Inside Lin Aida's Apartment—
On the TV, the host had just finished playing the daytime footage of Homelander visiting the injured soldier and was offering commentary.
Lin Aida, wearing sunglasses even at night, said, "Homelander is really a good person."
Alex could not help but glare at her, 'Why are you giving me the good guy card? Have I done anything to wrong you?'
Then he glanced at the egg tarts on the table, which he had picked up from a bakery earlier. There was only one left.
Following the principle of not wasting food, Alex reached out to take it.
Though Lin Aida was blind, her hearing was sharp. Hearing the movement, she said, "The egg tart must be cold. I'll heat it up in the microwave."
Alex did not stop her, even though he could have heated it with Heat Vision.
Lin Aida felt her way into the kitchen, then suddenly smacked her forehead, "Look at my memory. The microwave is broken. I haven't taken it to be repaired yet."
Alex smiled, "How about you hold it against your chest to warm it up, and then I'll eat it. That way it'll have a little extra flavor."
Lin Aida asked blankly at first, "What flavor?"
Then her face turned red.
