Wandering through these endless corridors we call 'Hell' - monsters lurking, shadows stretching forever - but somehow, with them, it feels like a never-ending family vacation. I love it. Some monsters here and there, yeah, yeah... but everything still feels right, you know? Sigh. I hope this lasts... in another life." "Here?... It won't."

Chapter 1 - A Hare Caught In A Bear Trap

"I hope this hurts."

"Live."

"Am I... Brave?"

I've been running and hiding for these past few days. My whole body aches. I cannot run no more. As of now, I have been hiding in some kind of a small storage room. And just besides the door of the room, a monster who is hungry... I wonder why all of people, I'm the one who had to suffer like this.

My life had been nothing but full of regrets. I hope to at least satisfy one of my dreams by finally moving in a country, but alas, i still feel like I'm resting in a middle of a void. Then one day, after finishing my work, going back to my home, in the middle of the open street of Tokyo... a string of destiny somehow connected me to the gates of hell. Not literally, it was just a plain white wooden door but what comes after is why i described it as hell opening their gates to me. Upon its arrival everyone in Tokyo disappeared. I.. the sound of the wind passing through an endless city of buildings, made me want to lie on the floor and sleep while staring at the gates of hell. But "Let's just get over with." I painfully said as i walked towards the door and finally went through it. That might be the biggest regret I did, but who can blame me to accept and not reject an out-of-universe events such as this.

And so I found myself in a labyrinth of some kind. Hours passed since venturing to unknown. But the unshaken silence was broken when i heard a painful shriek belonged to a disfigured entity. And upon discovering me, it held up an even more painful shriek before it began chasing me... I ran, and I ran.. I have never felt so scared before. Running away from a scary thing, not looking back. Not knowing when it could get to me... so there I was. Haha. If only I was transported into a much more fantastical journey. But this sure is fantastically horrifying. hahahahahahahahahha shit.... shit. I sighed hopelessly.

I'm lying in the floor right now, staring at the door. The door that is about to be torn down to bits by a monster. It growls and growls, its cry for thirst of blood. The bits of metal from the door falling on to me. How unlucky am i. At least. Everything will be over soon, this life I have wasted. I whimpered, as I seem to accept death but was still madly afraid of what is going to happen to me. Will I be eaten alive? Will I be torn down to bits just like that door? Will this be a very slowly painful death.

I closed my eyes..... expecting an endless torment. "This will be over soon" I pathetically and repeatedly said as I curled up like a dying fetus. But then.... the monster screamed as if it had been stabbed. The eerie noise emitting from that monster was gone. Then as I slowly opened my eyes.

-My gaze was...-

-My gaze was met by a knight-

A literal... knight? From around centuries ago in medieval years. I have no clue to this inconsistency. The knight was heavily armored except he doesn't have a helm. He has the appearance of in his 40's with his tough n' rough face and looked like he could sleep for centuries and still look like he arose from the dead. Both of us were out of breath until he actually lost consciousness and fell just centimeters away from my side. My head bonded into the floor also, looking at the ceiling and before I go out of conscious out of relief I took my last glance at my savior. I thought I was going to die that day. A gruesome death even. But what had arrive is something that ... maybe it is a sign for me. To never give up... Well that is if I will still rise from this haha. I sure do feel like a shittin' princess don't I.

...Then I finally lost my consciousness. The only thing I know is for me to live I need him to be alive and kicking as well. But,... do I really need to live?.. Ahhh shit what am I even saying....

 ...

 ....

.....

"Anis"

I woke up with a gasp, I'm still at the storage room. I grunted as I saw the body of the knight still one with the floor. "Shit" I muttered anxiously as I tried to check if the Knight is still alive. Upon checking, I sighed with relief as I felt his breathe in my arm. I groaned as I tried to lift up myself to sit. I still feel like I'm carrying the weight of the world. Going out and leaving this guy is definitely out of the question. So what I did was barricaded the almost broken down door with tall cabinets. I was lucky enough that I manage to find a room that has still food supplies. I believe with these lots, we could stay here for 4 days if we conserve it enough.

I looked at the knight and stared at him for a moment, before I sighed and tried to get him up in a much more comfortable position. I really have no idea. Are there even protocols for helping an unconscious medieval knight in amidst of hell. "Maybe... hm.. shall I take away his armor? " I said with uncertainty before I recklessly attempted to take away his armor a number of times and then eventually giving up. Maybe I should feed him? or maybe not.. mm never mind.

I sat against the wall in front of the Knight while eating a piece of bread I found stacked up in one of the shelves. I stared at him again while questioning a lot of things. Why is there a random knight? Is the bread I'm eating even safe? Can I eventually leave this hell hole? Is there even a way out here.

....And when i do get out of here.. wouldn't I suffer again in a very colorless life.

Approximately 24 hours has passed since I have awoken. I'm getting worried now. He still haven't awoken. And passing time sure is very hard, it feels likes time is unusually slow here. While I was still waiting I heard a painful shriek again... but this time it had a different vocal, it maybe a monster still but a different one. Then it tried bursting down the barricaded door furiously. It must have detected us. I tried picking up a metal bar and a small pocket knife. My breathe is getting out of control now, and my body's shaking. Shit, shit, shit SHIT. Ugh why is this keep happening to me?! Then out of nowhere a door became visible hiding from the corner of the room. With no hesitation I drag the Knight with me. As soon as I opened the door, inside was a hallway from a fancy hotel, except unusually big. The Knight was dragging me too slow... So I have no choice. I need to leave him.

I hid, still shaking, The monster now went in the door and found the hidden door too. The first monster was more larger and terrifying but this one seems to be some kind of a dog one. It found the Knight lying on the floor...

My life, I had always been weak. I always found reason to avoid work. I have always been aware of what is the right thing to do. But still can't do it. How weak I must be right, but still... Don't worry, I would never leave you alone, you save my life, so what is the right thing to do, is to save yours also...

Flip flop, hopscotch, with my heart racing, I hurriedly step in, and as the dog was about to notice me, I hit it with the metal bar as hard as i could. It screeched horribly. It's still alive, but weakened. So I raised my guard, as it tries to circle around me while growling. "COME AT ME YOU LITTLE-" then it attacked me head-on making it easier to deal the finishing blow.

"Oh my god" I laughingly said. "Wow, well that was my first time killing a monster. I have never felt so amazing in my entire life haha!" I said, as I fixed my hair. Then I heard the Knight groan. I hurriedly came, and tried going back to the storage room to grab some food and water. And when I was about to fed him, the knight grabbed my hand and... gripped it hard. I screamed "Frick! What are you doing?! ackk-" while trying to escape. What a way to greet me right? "Who are you?" he exclaimed while he still painfully grabbing my hand with his armor still equipped. I was about to answer him but i was too distracted upon the idea of hearing what he sounds like for the first time. So in return. Of course he tightened his gripped. "AHHHHHHHHH, you just saved me, what do you mean who am I?!". He then paused for a second lost in thought. Then he ungripped my hand. "For the love of-, how about a thank you for saving your skin also." I angrily said. He did not give me any kind of response. I sighed, and tried giving him the food and water. bUt hE dOEsnT EvEN wAnT tO. Despite being so exhausted. He tried to leave the scene only to find himself falling over like some drunk guy. I just gave him a disapproval stare and said "Look, there is no reason for me to do something that would harm you... *I sighed* As you might be well aware, we are trapped in some kind of a labyrinth with changing and chaotic properties with roaming monsters, and just as you can see from my physique i would not survive a single day here. Therefore, we could help each other out. What merit is there to be alone when you can be with someone and double your chances to live? And to be blunt, you can still use me as a bait or ditch me to your liking. So see? More benefits for the both of us. So please, enough of this stubbornness and eat.".

With him still on his guard, he gave me a disapproving stare and finally ate the bread I gave him. Upon tasting the bread he was delighted by it. Its not shown in his face, but I can faintly tell. He then ate a one day supply of bread like a savage animal who hadn't eaten for days. I was curious so I asked him "How many days have you been here?". He responded with silence. :/ Okay then. After finishing the whole bread, he said "2 days, ...I've been here for 2 days". Great!, now its my turn to respond with silence. But seriously speaking, I took a very big breath as how much I know how i will suffer more in the future. I sighed contemplating life to myself.

While he stared back at me with his threatening eyes, he noticed the dead dog like monster just besides the wall. "May I ask, is this dead beast resting besides me thy doing?" He asked in a forgiving manner i believe. "Yeah,.. I never thought I'd get to do something like this. Every part of my body was shaking. But as soon as I hit it for the first time. It felt like I'm in the zone." I replied while seeing his confused still blank face, maybe he didn't understand what I said from the last part, so I explained to him "Oh, In the zone, I meant that as in. like. I have never felt so alive before, and you're in the zone where you are doing all your best effort.". And as always his response was more quieter than a ninja's footsteps...

Then I suddenly let out a bit of a smile, making him get triggered a lil bit. Even I did not expect to smile in this crazy situation I'm in. I guess it's just... "I'm sorry, but have you not notice anything weird to everything you have seen here except for the monsters and the landscape of the environment.".. "....The lay of the land as I behold it, does seems more out of this world. From thy clothing as well, and the way thee speak." He exclaimed. "So, I only smiled out of excitement. You see, I have this fascination from foreign stuff. And you are the embodiment of it so. I only wish to know the world you have been venturing in.".

-What was your world like?-

He gave me a dismayed look before he responded

"....Woeful"

as he looked up as if he was reminiscing his dark past and looked at me furiously. I apologized to him as I seem to not have any context clues. So, then I tried to introduce myself "I'm Anis. And I'm sorry" I reached my hands only to be ignored.

"Klein."

Oh, he surprisingly responded. He said as he gather himself up... to leave

I looked at him, wondering what he have been through. From all the noise he had been... What past he hides upon that armor of his.
