Chapter 49 - Page 49

Some people put on sunglasses they had prepared in advance.

"Can this guy really succeed this time? What materials did he use?"

Tony, wearing the sunglasses Happy had handed him, stared at the shining "star" on the giant screen, his eyes flashing with surprise and curiosity.

"Mr. Osborn, I heard you previously funded his experiment?"

In a military camp, several senior officers, shoulder patches adorned with the Stars and Stripes, were intently watching the tiny star that had replaced the Statue of Liberty, now radiating dazzling light.

"General… yes, that's correct…"

A faint look of embarrassment crossed Norman Osborn's face, and a sense of foreboding rose in his chest.

"Mr. Osborn, I apologize; you should understand why I said that."

The general, who had signed a cooperation agreement with Oscorp, was apologizing but without a hint of regret.

"General, please give me another chance. The future weapon we are developing for the army will soon enter mass production."

A flicker of anger appeared on Norman's face, but at this moment, all he could do was lower his stance and plead.

"Sorry, you should have already heard: Tony Stark is back."

Moreover, he brought along an unprecedentedly powerful weapon…

In the end, the military unilaterally terminated the cooperation agreement, and the general couldn't help but tell Norman the real reason.

"Tony Stark?"

A flicker of hatred crossed Norman's face. That guy again.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we are honored that our experiment has succeeded!"

Under the witness of the world, after the dazzling star of New York shone, Dr. Otto proudly addressed the crowd.

"This looks like a miniature sun… but it seems unstable!"

"So… this thing really works? Will it explode like last time?"

"Damn, can we run away now? I don't want to be trapped in New York by a bunch of acquaintances tomorrow…"

At this moment, not only the people on-site, but even those watching the small sun constantly spitting flames, felt it seemed unstable.

Even New Yorkers couldn't resist the impulse to flee the city.

After all, this tiny sun looked highly unstable and could explode at any moment, giving the city's residents a very "warm" experience courtesy of a little boy.

"I know everyone doubts the stability of this miniature sun, which is why I invited Superman to help."

"Next, we will test this 'sun's' stability before New York City—and the entire world."

As if anticipating this, Dr. Otto spoke with full confidence.

Then, he returned to the aircraft with his wife, the rest of the operators, and some unnecessary equipment.

As the plane took off, suddenly a giant shadow fell over everyone nearby.

Superman was holding the Statue of Liberty with one hand, the tiny glowing sun in the other. He slowly raised the sun to the proper height and placed the statue back in its original position.

"Remember to protect her."

Peter's voice reached everyone's ears.

"Also… you might not sleep well for the next few nights…"

After saying these slightly mysterious words, he shot into the sky.

Everyone looked up at the sky, at the rapidly rising, shining star.

In less than a minute, this stellar object pierced the atmosphere, shining like the brightest star in the night sky.

Its intense light illuminated all of New York, making the night as bright as day!

Chapter 56: Dr. Pym, I Need Your Help

A brilliant star hung over New York.

This historic experiment had finally concluded.

Under military organization, everyone began boarding ships in an orderly fashion to leave the island.

As a billionaire and military darling, Tony Stark naturally didn't need to leave like the ordinary audience.

An advanced armed helicopter had been waiting for him for a long time.

Surrounded by a few bodyguards, Tony slowly walked toward the waiting helicopter, weaving past socialites offering notes and cards along the way.

Thud-thud-thud.

The helicopter's rotors spun rapidly, preparing to lift off.

But at that moment, a lean young man took advantage of the bodyguards' distraction and ran to the helicopter, shouting inside:

"Mr. Stark, please wait…"

"Looks like a male reporter," Happy muttered, then reported to Tony.

"Let's go."

If it had been a beautiful female reporter, Tony might have even spent an entire night with her.

"Wait, Mr. Stark…"

As the helicopter's rotors spun faster, it lifted off.

The young man seemed unconcerned with his own safety, grabbing the horizontal bar beneath the helicopter, trying to recreate Captain Wu Wukai's famous scene.

"Damn… you wanna die?"

Tony and Happy were helpless; the helicopter had to land back on the ground. Happy even got out and pinned the young man down.

"Huh… I suddenly want to know what makes someone willing to risk their life like this."

At some point, Tony stepped out of the helicopter, speaking briefly with Happy.

"You're lucky, kid."

Happy muttered a few words, then released him.

"Hello, Mr. Stark. I'm Eddie Bu—"

"I don't have the patience to hear your name. Just tell me what you need," Tony interrupted impatiently.

"All right… all right, Mr. Stark, please look. These are samples I collected from your newly established biological lab."

Eddie carefully pulled out several photos from his pocket and handed them to Tony.

"Sorry, I'm not used to accepting gifts from strangers."

Tony waved his hand, gesturing to Happy.

"Sir, please look!"

Happy took the photos from Eddie, paused briefly, then hurriedly handed them to Tony.

"Huh? This is…"

Tony, who had been casually observing, immediately became serious upon seeing the photos.

Where did you get these things?

Tony put away the photos, his gaze sternly fixed on Eddie.

"These were extracted from the biological lab you set up."

"Secretly filmed, right?"

Happy immediately exposed the truth.

"Uh… yes."

"I mean… why are you giving me this? What do you want in return? Money? Or something else…"

"No, no, no, I just want you to know the truth… or, if possible, I hope you can shut down that lab."

Eddie quickly waved his hands, signaling that he wasn't after money or favors.

"Seems like you're an intern reporter."

"What do you mean?"

"Mr. Stark means… professional reporters aren't as naive—or foolish—as you!"

Happy didn't hesitate to shut down the intruder.

"Come on, kid."

Tony turned and got back into the helicopter.

Thud-thud-thud…

As the helicopter slowly lifted, Tony once again examined the photos inside the cabin.

Looking at the man bound to the lab table, his arms emitting a faint green glow, face twisted in beast-like agony, his eyes flashed with a solemn intensity.
