Chapter 74: Was Ah Yin's Sacrifice a Conspiracy or a Coincidence?

"Teacher, since you already know everything, please agree to Nana's request."

Hu Liena stepped closer to Bibi Dong, grabbing her arm and swaying it back and forth as she coquettishly pleaded.

She knew very well that her teacher was most defenseless against this move.

"…Fine. I'll reluctantly agree."

Watching her disciple act spoiled, Bibi Dong's heart ultimately softened, and she granted Hu Liena permission.

But immediately afterward, her tone shifted.

"Oh, right, Nana. I have a task for you. Once you find Lin Chen's whereabouts, remember to inform your teacher. Understood?"

Bibi Dong's expression grew serious as she gave her instructions.

As time passed, she realized something strange: the more she thought about Lin Chen, the more she wanted to "deal with" him personally.

"Teacher, you're not planning to…?"

Before Hu Liena could finish her sentence, Bibi Dong shot her a sharp glance, warning her not to speak nonsense.

"Understood, Teacher."

Hu Liena patted her modestly developed chest and gave her solemn assurance.

After obtaining Bibi Dong's approval, she cheerfully left the Pope's Palace and returned home to prepare everything needed for traveling across the continent.

Holy Soul Village.

Holding the flowerpot containing Ah Yin, Lin Chen quickly found it inconvenient. So he retrieved a backpack from his storage soul tool ring.

He carefully placed Ah Yin inside, leaving a small opening for ventilation, and then set off toward the Blue Silver Forest.

As he walked, he simultaneously completed today's diary entry:

[Huge harvest today. Successfully seized Tang San's original opportunity from the novel.]

[I just arrived at Holy Soul Village and found Ah Yin, the Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor, hidden inside a cave in the back mountain.]

[Ah Yin, the wife of Tang Hao, and Tang San's mother.]

Just as Lin Chen wrote this line, he suddenly felt the branches inside his backpack whipping against his back, leaving him confused.

'Ah Yin… What's wrong? Why is she suddenly hitting me?'

Inside the diary's mirrored interface, Ah Yin saw the words "Tang San's mother," and a surge of fury rose within her.

She refused to acknowledge that Tang San was her child. In her heart, he was nothing but the enemy who had stolen her child's body.

Without thinking too much about it, Lin Chen continued writing.

[In the original story, Ah Yin died through sacrifice. Six years ago, she was hunted to the brink of death by the former Pope of Spirit Hall, Qian Xunji, along with the two elders Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo. With no other choice, she sacrificed herself to her husband, Tang Hao.]

[At that time, Tang Hao was merely a Soul Douluo. If Ah Yin hadn't sacrificed herself, all three of them would have died there.]

[Only through her sacrifice, allowing Tang Hao to break through to the Titled Douluo realm, did he have a chance to escape alive.]

[But honestly, I feel Tang Hao is truly unreliable. Just when Ah Yin was about to break through to Soul Saint and had just given birth, he brought her strolling near Spirit City.]

[That behavior is no different from personally delivering a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast to Spirit Hall's doorstep. As the heir of the Clear Sky Sect, did you really not know the defensive power surrounding Spirit City?]

[Moreover, if he had waited just a little longer, Ah Yin would have broken through to the Soul Saint realm and completely transformed into a human. At that point, he could have taken her anywhere without incident.]

[Yet it had to be at that exact moment. When I first read this part, I even began suspecting Tang Hao did it deliberately, his goal being to obtain a Hundred-Thousand-Year soul beast sacrifice for himself.]

[Then he spent six years in Holy Soul Village in a drunken stupor, hiding Ah Yin inside that pitch-dark stone chamber. Perhaps it was guilt, or perhaps he couldn't face reality or his wife after what he had done.]

[That cave chamber only receives a sliver of sunlight each day. Placing the wife you supposedly 'love' in such a place, Tang Hao, your love is truly something else.]

[If Ah Yin weren't the Blue Silver Emperor but merely an ordinary Blue Silver Grass, she would have long withered away. And then you would have completely lost the wife you claimed to love.]

[Now that I'm here, having taken Ah Yin's Hundred-Thousand-Year Right Leg Bone, I'll send her back to the Blue Silver Forest as compensation.]

[Still, something puzzles me. Why has Ah Yin grown so large? The original story mentioned that at this point, she was an extremely fragile Blue Silver Grass. But what I see now is completely different. Her branches are tender yet lush, nearly half a meter tall. Very strange indeed.]

After finishing today's diary, Lin Chen focused on his journey toward the Blue Silver Forest.

This time, however, he decided to travel leisurely.

Unlike when he rushed to Holy Soul Village by summoning his Golden Dragon and flying through the skies, he chose not to ride it again.

Summoning the Golden Dragon certainly made for incredible speed, but it lacked enjoyment.

Lin Chen preferred to walk the land himself, to truly appreciate the beauty of the Douluo Continent.

Chat Group Interface:

[I Am a Little Princess: Is this Tang Hao truly stupid or pretending to be? Sister Ah Yin was almost at the Soul Saint stage, about to fully transform into a human, and yet he brought her to Spirit City at that moment? Wasn't that just handing Spirit Hall an opportunity?]

[Sea God's Spokesperson: I also find it absurd. Unless Tang Hao truly had intentions, as Lin Chen suggested, of letting Spirit Hall discover Ah Yin… I genuinely can't understand how the heir of the Clear Sky Sect could be so foolish.]

[Pope of Spirit Hall: I think Lin Chen's suspicion makes sense. Perhaps Tang Hao was greedy for Ah Yin's Hundred-Thousand-Year soul ring.]

[Pope of Spirit Hall: After all, a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring is something every soul master dreams of. Maybe he regretted it afterward and sank into decadence in Holy Soul Village.]

[Pope of Spirit Hall: And where did he place Ah Yin? In a stone chamber with barely any sunlight. Wasn't that practically wishing for her to wither?]

[Pope of Spirit Hall: Fortunately, she's the Blue Silver Emperor. Otherwise… she might have already withered away.]

[Pope of Spirit Hall: I unconditionally believe Lin Chen. And by the way, Qian Xunji was truly a beast.]

[I Have No Mother: Bibi Dong, your double standards are showing. You weren't saying that before, and now you're slandering the former Pope of Spirit Hall.]

[I Have No Mother: Then tell me, what about Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo? What's your evaluation of them?]

[Pope of Spirit Hall: The two of them were merely carrying out their duties. Qian Xunji was the instigator. They cannot be compared.]

[Pope of Spirit Hall: They were simply working under orders. What fault could they possibly have?]

[I Have No Mother: Hah. Didn't you just say you blindly believe Lin Chen? By your logic, wouldn't that make you a foolish woman? And that Yu Xiaogang is a petty villain?]

Seeing Bibi Dong once again slander her father, Qian Renxue immediately stepped forward to defend her long-deceased father, Qian Xunji.

She never understood why Bibi Dong despised her father so deeply.

If she hated him so much—

Then why had she once united with him… and given birth to her?
