Chapter 23 - Chapter 23:Ultimate Release Technique! You Know Nothing of Power! The War God Pikachu Returns!

"But… but right now, Ash is still fighting in Kanto for those eight Gym Badges!"

"First came the struggles at the Quartz Conference!"

"Then the grueling battles at the Silver Conference…"

"Holy crap!"

"Are we really going to face a terrifying ancient-god-level boss right after leaving the newbie town?"

"Horrifying!"

"Talk about a hellishly difficult start!"

A group of rookie trainers clutched their Poké Balls tightly, emitting desperate wails.

"We don't want this! Who the hell wants to face the final boss the moment they step outside?"

Kanto Region – Kureha Gym

As the only Electric-type Gym Leader to have ever defeated the 'Future War God', Mazushi stared at the screen, his eyes filled with sheer disbelief.

"No way… that little brat from the future… could actually be this absurdly strong?"

He forced himself to recall the young challenger from memory.

Honestly…

Yeah.

Mazushi's first impression of Ash had been abysmal.

Upon meeting him, he outright called Ash and Pikachu "BABY." Not affectionate—blatant scorn and derision.

As one of Kanto's top Electric-type manipulators, he believed in evolution as the ultimate path, and his own Pikachu had long since evolved into a devastating Raichu.

At the start of their battle, his Raichu was like a rampaging war machine, electrocuting Ash's unevolved "tiny one" mercilessly, nearly flattening him.

If not for Ash risking everything, exploiting Raichu's fatal speed weaknesses, and executing a desperate counterattack with extreme agility, Mazushi would never have realized the truth he had overlooked:

A Pokémon's potential isn't determined solely by evolution. Base stats and speed can also decide life and death.

Mazushi was a man of principle; once he acknowledged his misjudgment, he handed over the badge without hesitation.

That memory remained vivid…

Yet at the time, Mazushi believed that was the ultimate ceiling for an unevolved Pikachu.

Bloodlines and species limitations were a wall no one could cross…

Who could have predicted—

In some unknown, distant future, when Ash challenged the "Pioneer God" Mr. Brandon, that same Pikachu, still unevolved, could obliterate the Regice, the Holy Pillar known for absolute defense, in a single strike!

And now, the Pokémon even wields the supreme Thunderstone Tablet!

"Could it be… that my belief that 'evolution equals strength' is completely wrong?" Mazushi shook his head violently, his resolute face now tinged with feverish excitement.

"No! My belief isn't wrong! It's this BABY duo—they're simply extraordinary beyond reason!"

"I… I've never been this excited!"

"How far can they push the limits of an unevolved Pokémon? How insane can they go?!"

Release Pikachu? Madness! It's like throwing the champion's throne in the trash!

Will they top Kanto and become an immortal legend?

Or will they continue deeper, stepping into the realm of gods?

Mazushi didn't know.

But the heat coursing through his chest made him eager to witness the next moment.

Pokémon League Headquarters

"The Thunderstone Tablet… is it really something like this?"

Chairman Goodshowchi stared at the screen, astonishment flickering in his eyes.

"An unexpected gift indeed… but now that it's in Ash's hands, I feel not the slightest worry."

"He will surely use this power in the purest way possible."

He smiled contentedly, watching Ash and Pikachu share a warm look. The harmony between trainer and Pokémon had reached perfection.

Honestly, if a fragment of this primordial power fell into the hands of any ambitious individual, Chairman Goodshowchi would be sleepless with worry.

The Thunderstone Tablet! A force capable of overturning the laws of the world! But—

His gaze shifted to the fiery-eyed boy, then to the mischievous electric mouse.

Yep. Worry? Completely gone.

Why stress so much? Young people's paths are meant for them to forge, to crash and burn, to rise and fall!

Besides, Ash is the "Rainbow Hero" appointed by Ho-Oh.

This ancient trust is enough for Chairman Goodshowchi to remain confident.

Warning Descends

At that moment, a cold, mechanical voice rang out like a divine proclamation, snapping everyone back to attention:

"First inventory—Pokédex entries rivaling Legendary Pokémon, complete."

"Next, the second inventory will commence."

Everyone held their breath, eyes glued to the sky-screen.

Questions surged like tidal waves: which legendary or mythic being would claim the next spot on the honor roll?

But at the climax of anticipation—

The familiar, anxiety-inducing duo appeared front and center again!

"What the—?! Why is it Ash and Pikachu again?!"

"Damn it! Is this some kind of favoritism? Endless attention, huh?!"

"I don't know why… I suddenly have a terrible premonition…"

"Shut up! No crows allowed!"

All viewers froze, as if someone had grabbed their throats.

Ash and Pikachu… what kind of freaks are you?!

Tokiwagi Gym Underground Base

Watching the new video, it was still the same jacketed boy and his electric mouse. Sakaki raised an eyebrow.

"Again, this Pikachu?"

"Defeating Brandon's Regice, acquiring the Thunderstone Tablet… surely that must be its limit?"

"How many more Legendary Pokémon can it possibly defeat?"

Sakaki wasn't underestimating them—it was pure logic.

Pikachu's species limits set its natural ceiling.

As leader of Team Rocket, obsessed with the "strongest Pokémon" research, Sakaki was a devout bloodline purist.

One video of devastation couldn't shatter his belief in the unbridgeable gap between ordinary Pokémon and Legendaries.

And yet, that thought sparked fiery curiosity in his deep eyes.

Ash… Pikachu… what other insane feats beyond reason will you show me?

Scene Inside the Video

Unexpectedly, the opening scene was a surprisingly peaceful, almost mundane nature sequence.

While crossing a primordial forest:

Ash's Pikachu spotted a large group of wild Pikachu.

Excited, it bounded forward, trying to greet its kin. Yet all the wild Pikachu, in an instant, scattered in terror!

"Honestly… my first thought was—are all of these guys future god-level Pikachu?"

"I admit, I thought the same!"

"The image of Ash's Pikachu obliterating Regice is such a psychological shadow! Now, even a random Pikachu on the road feels like an untouchable hidden boss!"

Viewers whispered, nodding furiously in agreement.

From now on, whenever they saw a Pikachu, their minds automatically replayed:

The War God Pikachu, moving faster than light, hardcore annihilating Regice! Pikachu—terrifying, untouchable!

The wild Pikachu's fear only began to fade after Ash's Pikachu risked itself to rescue an injured member of the group.

Then, working together, Ash and Pikachu cleanly rescued all wild Pikachu from Team Rocket's clutches.

The group finally let down its guard, accepting this extraordinary duo.

Joyful moments were short-lived; the inevitable farewell arrived.

Ash looked at the wild Pikachu, smiling brightly as it returned to its natural group.

And on his face, for the first time, appeared a firm, resolute determination.

He then grabbed Brock and Misty, without hesitation, and turned to leave—choosing to move forward.
