Chapter 12 - fight between anvi and ved

The entire office buzzed with whispers the moment the news spread—

Oberoi Group has a new secretary.

Kashvi, however, remained quietly absorbed in her work. No one knew the truth.

No one knew that the cold, ruthless Ved Oberoi was her husband.

Her life had slipped into a lifeless routine—

wake up, come to the office, return home…

and every single day, watch Ved and Anvi's love unfold right in front of her eyes.

It hurt.

It hurt unbearably.

But she had no right to show it.

No right to question it.

No right to vent her frustration.

Days passed.

That day, too, Kashvi was at the office when Ved's cold voice cut through the silence.

"Bring the files from that desk."

She nodded and turned to obey.

But halfway there, a sudden wave of nausea crashed over her.

Her face drained of color.

The files slipped from her hands and scattered on the floor as she rushed toward the washroom.

Ved frowned. Something felt wrong.

Before he could stop himself, he followed her.

Inside the washroom, Kashvi retched violently. Her body trembled, her legs gave way—and just as she was about to collapse, strong arms caught her from behind.

Ved.

Without a word, he lifted her and carried her outside, laying her gently on the sofa. A doctor was called immediately.

Anvi and Gaurav arrived soon after, panic spreading through the office.

Everyone was tense. No one understood what had suddenly happened to the always-quiet secretary.

The doctor checked her vitals, paused, then spoke words that froze the room.

"She is pregnant."

Time stopped.

Anvi and Ved spoke together, their voices shaking—

"What?!"

Slowly, Kashvi regained consciousness.

Her blurry eyes focused on the scene before her—

Anvi crying hysterically, accusing Ved again and again.

"What have you done, Ved?!"

Ved ran a hand through his hair, his voice strained with panic and guilt.

"Baby… please. It was an accident. We were drunk. We weren't in our senses. Trust me."

Kashvi understood everything in that moment.

As soon as Anvi noticed Kashvi was awake, she shot her a look filled with rage and humiliation—then stormed out of the office.

Silence followed.

Ved walked toward Kashvi slowly and sat beside her.

Suddenly, Kashvi broke down.

"V-Ved… I'll go far away from you and Anvi. I'll take all the blame on myself," she sobbed.

"Just… please don't ask me to abort my baby. I can't kill my child. I don't want to."

Ved held her trembling hand firmly.

"Kashvi… this is my child too," he said quietly.

"I will never ask you to kill it."

For the first time since morning, Kashvi breathed in relief.

That evening, they told Dadaji everything.

He was overjoyed.

The heir of the Oberoi family was on the way.

Happiness filled the house—but not everyone was smiling.

Kashvi—who couldn't stop thinking that the child she carried wasn't born out of love, but out of hatred and intoxication.

Ved—drowning in guilt.

Guilt of what he had done to Kashvi.

Guilt of betraying Anvi.

And Anvi—

who was watching Ved slip out of her hands,

watching the entire Oberoi legacy drift away from her grasp.

Yet something changed.

Ved began taking care of Kashvi in ways she had never imagined.

His concern, his protectiveness—she was seeing a side of him for the very first time.

Dadaji appointed maids for every little task, refusing to let Kashvi lift a finger.

Everything seemed calm.

Until one night.

At exactly 2 a.m., Ved's phone rang.

Anvi.

He answered—and within seconds, the words she spoke wiped the color from his face.
