Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Solo Assessment!

In the end, Tsunade brought Kenji to the Academy.

The students had largely gone on break; only the teachers remained at the school.

With the graduation assessment having just concluded, the teachers were organizing their data, preparing to report their work to the Hokage.

When they saw Kenji's teacher, Muyi, he was just coming out of the office holding a stack of files.

"Lady Tsunade!"

Muyi greeted Tsunade respectfully. "Is there something you need?"

"Teacher Muyi, it's like this..."

Tsunade explained Kenji's intentions in detail.

Muyi pushed up his glasses, glanced at Kenji, and hesitated. "Lady Tsunade, the list of those who passed the graduation assessment has already been finalized. I was just about to report to Lord Hokage!"

Hearing this, Tsunade immediately stiffened her face and said with a hint of anger, "Haven't you not reported it yet? If Kenji passes the assessment, just add his name."

"...That doesn't seem to align with the rules, does it?" Muyi looked troubled.

" The Academy's rule is to cultivate students into talent. As long as Kenji has the ability, why can't you give him a chance?"

Muyi thought to himself, That sounds nice, but where does that kid have any ability? I supervised his assessment personally yesterday. He couldn't even meet the standards for the basic ninjutsu.

However, he also knew the relationship between Kenji and Tsunade. After a slight hesitation, he responded, "Since Lady Tsunade has asked, I will give him one more chance. However, when I conduct the assessment, Lady Tsunade cannot be present."

"Why? Are you afraid I'll help him cheat?" Tsunade asked indignantly.

That is exactly what I'm worried about, Muyi thought.

"Tsunade, just wait here. I'll be fine alone." Kenji knew that Muyi was a relatively upright person.

It wasn't hard to see that he admired Tsunade.

But as a teacher, he had his duties. Even for Tsunade, he couldn't go too far.

"Alright then!"

Since Kenji had spoken, Tsunade didn't say anything more. She simply encouraged him, "Do your best. Don't waste this opportunity."

"Mn!"

After Kenji finished speaking, he followed Muyi to a different training field, while Tsunade waited where she was.

After waiting for about an hour, Kenji and Muyi walked back.

Tsunade immediately went up to them and asked anxiously, "How was it?"

Seeing Tsunade like this, Kenji simply shrugged and didn't say a word.

"Hm?"

Confused, Tsunade looked at Muyi, only to see the latter looking dazed and absent-minded, which was even stranger.

"Teacher Muyi, what happened?"

Muyi suddenly snapped out of it. "Nothing... nothing. Kenji passed the assessment. He can attend the graduation ceremony in a week."

"Ah... really?" Tsunade was pleasantly surprised and immediately pulled Kenji into a hug.

Although Kenji had experienced this kind of intimacy many times, he had to admit that Tsunade's figure was too explosive. Specifically, those two soft mounds on her chest were pressed directly against his face. Despite his high mental fortitude, he almost got a nosebleed.

"Well then... I need to report my work to the Third Hokage. I'll be going first."

Muyi seemingly couldn't handle the stimulation of such a scene either. With something weighing on his mind, he left in a hurry.

"He's acting strange, isn't he?" Tsunade found it odd.

"Who knows!" Kenji was in a great mood. He let out a sigh of relief and said, "Let's go. Ignore him. Let's go home."

"Mm... you go back first. I have something to discuss with my teacher."

Tsunade's teacher was, naturally, the Third Hokage.

"Alright, I'll head out then." Although Kenji found it abrupt, he didn't think much of it. It just so happened that he needed some independent space anyway.

In the Hokage's Office.

Muyi handed the files in his hands to the Third Hokage for review and gave a simple report on the information regarding this year's graduates.

"Mn, the grades of this batch of graduates are quite good." The Third Hokage sighed with deep meaning. "They are the new buds of the Hidden Leaf, and they will grow into the pillars of the village!"

Muyi hesitated for a moment before finally speaking. "Lord Hokage, there is a special matter I need to report to you."

"Oh?"

"Regarding Kenji."

"Oh?" The Third Hokage showed a look of surprise.

Naturally, he paid attention to Kenji.

First, his parents had died in battle for the Hidden Leaf; they were heroes.

Second, he was Tsunade's foster brother. Given how close Kenji and Tsunade were, how could he not know?

The Third Hokage scanned the register in his hand again and saw Kenji's name impressively located on the very last line.

"Has that kid finally enlightened?... No... Muyi, his name was just added, wasn't it?" The Third Hokage spotted the irregularity.

Muyi said with shame, "Lord Hokage indeed has eyes like torches."

"Then... what is your explanation?"

"Kenji did not meet the standards during yesterday's assessment. But just now, Lady Tsunade brought Kenji to me and insisted that I assess him again individually."

The Third's expression relaxed, his emotions unreadable. He calmly said, "Since Tsunade asked, you certainly couldn't refuse. Now that you've added his name, does this mean he passed your assessment?"

"Not only that," Muyi pushed up his glasses and said. "Because Kenji's assessment was irregular, which is unfair to other students, I deliberately increased the difficulty of the assessment, but..."

Hearing this, the Third Hokage was surprised. "He still passed?"

"I can only say that his application of the basic ninjutsu is not at all inferior to a Genin who has been graduated for several years. He might even have reached the level of a Chunin."
