The eastern tower chamber was silent except for the crackle of the hearth and the ragged sound of four heartbeats syncing through the bond.
Seren stood at the centre of the room, the midnight-blue gown already pooled at her feet. She wore nothing beneath it. The firelight painted her skin in shifting gold and shadow, highlighting the silver scars at her throat that now glowed faintly whenever the bond surged. Her nipples were already tight, her thighs slick with anticipation.
Aeron circled her first, slow and deliberate, black eyes drinking in every inch of her. "You're trembling," he murmured, voice low and commanding. "Fear or want?"
"Both," she whispered.
He stepped behind her, one hand sliding up her spine to tangle in her hair. He tilted her head back, exposing her throat, and pressed his mouth to the silver mark. His tongue traced the scar, sending a jolt straight to her core. "Good," he said against her skin. "I want both."
