Faye Vaughn suddenly stepped forward, shouting.
She blocked Wyatt Hawthorne with her slender frame.
Maya Adler's face darkened, and she sneered, "Faye Vaughn, I guess your wings are all grown now. You won't even acknowledge your own mother and brother. Don't blame me for being a cruel mother and exposing all your shameless scandals."
Faye Vaughn froze.
'Scandals?'
Maya Adler continued to threaten her. "Do you dare let me tell President Hawthorne? After he hears it, do you think he'll still want you?"
Faye Vaughn turned her head to glance at Wyatt Hawthorne.
The handsome man's brows were tightly knitted, a look of annoyance on his face.
He said coolly, "What scandals? Why don't you tell me so I can hear for myself."
Maya Adler stared intently at Faye Vaughn and made the money gesture again—'If you don't give me money, I won't let your brother go, and I'll make sure your life is hell!'
A wave of desolation washed over Faye Vaughn.
