While Wyatt Hawthorne was cooking noodles, Faye Vaughn went into the bathroom to take a shower.
When she was done, she left the showerhead running.
Amidst the sound of the water, she took out her phone and sent a message to Liam Linden: "Are you safe now?"
She thought she would have to wait a long time, but unexpectedly, Liam replied quickly: "It's not your concern."
Faye stared at the four cold words and let out an exasperated laugh. "If it's not my concern, why are you even messaging me back?"
Liam: "You're annoying. Stop pestering me."
Faye stubbornly typed back: "If you think I'm so annoying, why do you keep replying?"
This time, Liam really didn't reply.
A small smile touched Faye's lips as her fingertips flew across the screen: "You need to be careful. The Hawthorne Family won't give up on tracking you down. You'd better get far away from Keston. The farther, the better."
'He'd better go so far away that all our debts are settled, and we never cross paths again.'
