Perhaps sensing Zoe Sawyer's silence, Lily Golding's voice grew frantic. "I'm not lying! I really saw it!
If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, why would I say something so absurd!"
Toward the end, Lily Golding's voice started to break. She had really seen it.
Zoe Sawyer quickly tried to console her. "Lily, it's not that I don't believe you. It's just so sudden, I didn't know how to react.
When are you free? How about we meet up and talk? Maybe there's another way to handle this!"
Lily Golding took a few deep breaths to calm herself, then arranged to meet with Zoe Sawyer that afternoon.
After hanging up, Sean Hughes, who was sitting next to her, patted her on the shoulder. "Do you need me to go with you?"
Before Zoe Sawyer could answer, Heath Hale spoke up. "I'll go with Zoe. You two are a bit conspicuous right now, you'd draw too much attention."
