Wendy Logan started to say something, but a look from Boss Logan silenced her.
'What's there to be afraid of?'
'We haven't done anything. We're the perfect victims. There's nothing to fear!'
"Don't be afraid. The police will see that we get justice," Boss Logan said quietly, patting his daughter's back with pointed meaning.
There might not be any officers guarding them here, but the surveillance camera overhead was still recording.
'I can't afford to be careless.'
'Just one last step.'
But when he thought about what had just happened, the corners of Boss Logan's mouth couldn't help but lift. 'This is perfect.'
'I don't even have to think about how to wrap this up. That idiot got himself into this mess.'
Seeing her father's look telling her to stay calm, Wendy Logan took a deep breath. 'That's right,' she thought. 'We didn't do anything. There's nothing to be afraid of.'
