Clark's message was clear. They had investigated Zoe Sawyer and Heath Hale before coming over and found nothing suspicious. He was warning Evan Crowe to watch himself.

"But if I hear them spouting any more nonsense, whether or not they'll be able to leave will be another story." Evan Crowe shrugged and drew his thumb across his throat while looking at Zoe Sawyer and Heath Hale, his threat perfectly clear.
Once he was done, he motioned for his parents to leave with him.
