The Blood Giant looked down indifferently, the viscous river of blood beneath its feet churning like a living creature.
The pool of blood beneath the Conductor's feet exploded without warning. The scarlet liquid morphed into countless tentacles, slithering up his ankles. Before he could even let out a scream, the Conductor was completely engulfed by a massive, roiling ball of bloody water. His violent struggles lasted for only two seconds. A pungent, acidic stench filled the air as a bone-chilling dissolving sound echoed from within the mass of blood.
Soon, the bloody water fell completely still. A hero who had just ignited the hopes of a hundred thousand people with his life had died just like that, crushed as easily as a bug. The newly sparked flames of resistance in the square were utterly extinguished by this despairing deluge of blood.
