It was already midnight when Xu Yun got home.
He stood at his door for a few seconds, then decided against going in and went straight to the apartment next door instead.
Then, he tried entering the password.
It unlocked.
Using the faint light from his phone screen, Xu Yun slipped inside. It was pitch-black; everyone was asleep.
It was his first time doing something like this, and his heart was racing, but he still found his way to Li Jinshu's bedroom door with practiced ease.
He reached out and tried the doorknob.
Xu Yun paused.
Shit. It was locked.
'Should I go back, or keep going?'
He hesitated for three seconds, then sent Li Jinshu a text and called her. He let it ring twice before hanging up.
Inside, Li Jinshu had just fallen asleep when the phone call woke her.
She was about to curse whoever was calling her in the middle of the night when she suddenly saw Xu Yun's name on the screen.
'Xu Yun is calling me?'
Then, she saw an unread text from Xu Yun.
