The old woman wasn't very nimble. By the time she lunged, Renee had already pushed open the door.
The girl in the white dress lay quietly on the bed, her dress already removed. A man in white stood beside the bed, wearing white medical gloves and holding a watercolor brush.
Hearing the noise, the man in white frowned and looked over.
When he saw Renee's face, a flash of stunned admiration crossed his eyes.
Renee's gaze shifted from the brush in his hand to his face. He was very young, but the dark circles under his eyes made him look unwell.
"Who are you?" the old woman demanded, tugging on Renee's clothes. "Who said you could come into our home?"
Renee pushed her away and stared warily at the man in white. "What are you doing?"
"Oh, nothing," the man in white said, setting down the watercolor brush. A creepy smile spread across his face. "And why are you in my house?"
The old woman looked at the three people on the sofa and asked urgently, "Do you know who she is?"
