Shen Nian spoke, but her hands never stopped moving as she deftly prepared to scoop the freshly stir-fried dish out of the wok.
Instead of leaving as Shen Nian had suggested, Lu Cheng stayed by her side, picked up a plate, and handed it to her.
"Don't worry about them. I'll help you."
"Is that really okay?"
'But... everyone out there is a guest. Is it really okay for both of us, the hosts, to be in the kitchen?'
"Relax, it's fine. What are we stir-frying next?"
Hearing Lu Cheng say that, Shen Nian stopped worrying. If he said it was fine, then it must truly be fine.
"Hmm, let's do the greens."
"Alright, I'll grab them for you."
Working in perfect sync, Shen Nian and Lu Cheng quickly finished the last two dishes.
As she and Lu Cheng walked out of the kitchen with the finished dishes, Shen Nian saw the scene in the living room and finally understood what he had meant by "it's fine."
