The next afternoon, a small figure appeared in the Suweiqi train station, not far from Hakas.
Yuan Si had set out from Hakas the previous morning, skiing through a blizzard for nearly a full day before finally leaving its range. She took off her gear and walked the rest of the way to Suweiqi.
Unwilling to linger, Yuan Si boarded the next train heading for the Su Country border. The journey home was smooth, and she arrived back in Li Family Village at the end of November.
Just outside the village, Yuan Si found a secluded spot. She took some things she had bought in the Su Country out of her space, wrapped them in a cloth, slung the bundle over her back, and headed for the village entrance.
"Hey, isn't that Little Si? What brings you back now?"
She had just entered the village when she was spotted by Xiao Chang'e, Vice Li's wife, who lived near the entrance. Xiao Chang'e was on good terms with Zuo Daya, so she knew Yuan Si fairly well.
