Yuan Si rushed and hurried, finally making it home before her mother woke up.
After waking up, making breakfast for her son, and seeing him off, her mother went back to her room. She saw her daughter sleeping soundly on the bed and approached several times, but she just couldn't bring herself to wake her.
'The child just got back,' she mused. 'I have to let her rest properly. School can wait until my daughter is well and healthy.'
And so, thanks to her mother's indulgence, Yuan Si, who had snuck out for the entire night, slept straight through until noon. Only then did she finally feel rested enough to get up. Seeing that her mother wasn't home yet, she groggily washed up. Once she was fully awake, she dove into the kitchen, ready to work her magic and cook something to help her mother build up her strength.
You see, even though Yuan Si had been constantly on the move, she had never skimped on food. She ate wherever she went, and it was always fresh meat.
