As the sun set, an ox-cart swayed and ambled along the dirt road outside the county town, drawing closer from a distance. Besides a tall stack of several hemp sacks, two men sat on the cart. One was in the front, cracking a whip to drive the ox, while the other sat in the back, leaning against the sacks. They both looked travel-worn and dusty.
