Xiao Furen was on the event staff, and it was a hectic time. The fact he could slip out to meet her was already a feat. After he led her inside and to her seat, he rushed off to get back to work.
Yuan Si sat alone in the fifth row of the center section. It wasn't too close to the stage, nor too far—the spot was just perfect.
After waiting a while, just as the show was about to start, Xiao Furen ducked and squeezed his way over, sitting down next to Yuan Si to watch the gala with her.
"Finished with your work?" Yuan Si whispered.
"Yeah, nothing left for me to do." Xiao Furen tilted his head, leaning close to her ear to whisper back.
"Perfect. There are still a few minutes before the show starts, so eat these buns first," Yuan Si said, handing over the oil-paper package. "You haven't eaten dinner, have you?"
