Jane Sterling said softly from the side. With red-rimmed eyes, Joy Fischer lifted her head from her arms to look at her, sniffling.
"Really?"
Luna Nash threw an arm around her shoulders.
"Of course it's true! When has our Jane ever been wrong? Besides, the law is a vast net—it misses nothing. You can't accuse good people of things they didn't do, and the guilty won't get away with it!"
As if afraid Joy Fischer wouldn't believe her, Luna Nash immediately took out her phone and called her mom right then and there.
The phone rang once on the other end before it was quickly picked up.
Before the person on the other end could say a word, Luna Nash started talking a mile a minute, spilling everything at once.
"Mom, the Fischer family is in trouble. Can you help them?"
Still talking, Luna Nash walked straight out of the room.
Out in the hallway, she listened to her mom's response.
"I thought you and Joy Fischer never got along. Why the sudden desire to help her?"
