It was as if they had both forgotten the little incident from earlier.
Jane Sterling didn't pay it much mind. After getting out of the car, she ducked under the police tape and looked at the sealed restaurant before her.
It was a hot pot restaurant that rarely saw much business, likely due to its location.
The storefront wasn't very large. An officer followed beside them, pointing toward a small alley.
"The victim was found over there."
With that, he led Jane Sterling straight over to a spot where a dumpster had been.
The dumpster was gone now, with only a chalk outline remaining to mark its place.
"It happened right here. She was found head-down, legs-up. Her head had been stuffed into the dumpster, like she'd been planted upside down."
Jane Sterling nodded in understanding.
"But you'd only find a body in that position if it was dumped after a murder, right? If she'd gone in herself, it would have been legs first, head up."
