Drew Thorne parked the car in a hidden, dense grove and got out.
He was carrying a Beretta whose barrel glinted coldly. The sight of it made Joy Fischer and Luna Nash's hearts jump instinctively.
Drew didn't say a word, simply striding toward the villa complex. Luna instinctively moved to block his path.
"Don't be reckless! This complex is huge. If they spot you the second you go in, you'll be walking straight into the lion's den!"
Drew's worry had overwhelmed his reason. He dodged past her, unwilling to waste any more time talking to Luna.
Luna gritted her teeth, noticing the bloodthirsty look in Drew's eyes. But her desire to save Jane Sterling was just as strong as his.
She stepped forward and grabbed his sleeve tightly.
"Drew, don't be impulsive! Jane would blame you if she knew. If you tip them off like this, what if they put her in more danger inside?"
Drew took a few deep breaths, forcing himself to steady his racing heart.
