Lu Xize and the other two waited downstairs while Chu Yao went up alone and knocked on the door.
The one who answered the door was the caregiver in charge of looking after Chu Zhen Dong, a local from the small town.
"Yaoyao, you're here?"
The caregiver was stunned for a moment upon seeing Chu Yao, then she broke into a wide smile and welcomed her inside.
"Auntie, where's my dad?"
"Mr. Chu is on the balcony reading the newspaper."
The people in the small town were simple-hearted. Chu Yao paid a generous salary, and Chu Zhen Dong wasn't difficult to look after, so they all got along quite pleasantly.
Chu Yao walked quietly toward the balcony, but the person there had already heard her and was putting down his newspaper to look in her direction.
"Dad."
Chu Yao walked to Chu Zhen Dong's side and squatted down, placing her hands on her father's knees. "How have you been feeling? I've been really busy lately."
