Lu Xize walked over and nodded at Shan Wei and He Qiao in greeting before turning his gaze to the car. Chu Yao hadn't gotten out.
Shan Wei, ever the perceptive one, immediately understood what this meant.
She quickly spoke up. "Yaoyao is a little tired. She fell asleep."
Chu Yao was still slumped over in the car, fast asleep, showing no signs of waking.
Shan Wei was just about to wake her, but Lu Xize was a step ahead. He stood before the car door, bent down, reached in, and lifted Chu Yao straight out.
He moved with gentle care, afraid Chu Yao might bump her head on the door frame.
With Chu Yao out of the car, Lu Xize nodded to Shan Wei again, then carried Chu Yao straight into the villa.
