Chapter 40 - Chapter 40: Wind Spirit

Chapter 40: Wind Spirit

The massive wind blade that Little Green had transformed into suddenly began to shrink, gradually turning into a fluffy little bird with an emerald-green sheen.

The small bird flew through the air, its wings beating rapidly as it rushed toward Su Ke. Although its wingspan was less than 10 centimeters, the hurricane it generated was astonishingly violent.

Su Ke could only struggle to resist. In the end, he was forced flat against the ground, both hands gripping the earth tightly as his entire body was tossed about like a rag.

(It was just like tearing off a tiny piece of toilet paper and placing it in front of an electric fan.)

Su Ke desperately tried to stabilize himself, but the gale was like a ferocious beast, battering him mercilessly as if it wanted to tear him apart. He felt like a fallen leaf, helplessly swept along by the wind.

'No, I can't keep going like this, or I'll definitely be blown away.'

Anxiety surged through him as his mind raced, searching for an Alien Hero that could help him break through the situation. To his surprise, he actually thought of one.

"Do you know why people are so obsessed with planting trees and afforestation?"

Hearing this, Little Green tilted her head in confusion, but her wings never stopped flapping, and the hurricane continued to roar.

With great effort, Su Ke released one hand and slammed the Omnitrix symbol on his chest. In an instant, green light burst forth as he transformed into Wildvine.

"Wildvine! Ha!!!"

With a roar, he controlled the 5 vines at his feet to plunge deep into the ground. These vines were as tough as steel, gripping the earth tightly and stabilizing his body.

Though the gale still raged, Su Ke no longer swayed. He stood firmly in place, like a towering tree rooted deep in the soil.

"Taste this!"

He thrust both hands into the ground. In the next moment, countless vines burst forth, intertwining and rapidly growing into towering trees.

The trees formed a solid barrier, forcefully blocking the hurricane. More and more trees rose around Little Green, gradually forming a cage that trapped her inside.

Realizing she was trapped, Little Green grew anxious. She flapped her wings violently, releasing sharp wind blades to cut through the vines in front of her.

Yet for every vine she severed, another immediately grew back. Before long, the cut vines had fully regenerated.

Seeing that this was ineffective, she curled her body inward and began spinning at high speed. Wind blades shot out in all directions with her as the center.

However, these scattered wind blades were clearly far weaker than her earlier attack. They could only leave shallow scars on the vines, and those scars healed almost instantly.

After maintaining this state for about 5 minutes, Little Green finally collapsed onto the ground. Having consumed too much spiritual energy, she was completely exhausted.

At the same time, the Omnitrix symbol on Su Ke's chest began flashing red. This meant his spiritual energy had dropped below one-tenth.

After switching between so many Alien Heroes and fighting for so long, his final move, All-Encompassing Forest, had nearly drained him dry.

Since this was only a training match and not a real battle, Su Ke withdrew the vines and transformed back. The moment the vines receded, Little Green flew over and landed on Zhang Xin's shoulder.

She rubbed against Zhang Xin's face while chirping softly, her eyes filled with moisture.

Su Ke asked hesitantly, "Is she… crying from anger?"

The little bird immediately cried even harder, her voice full of grievance and sorrow.

Zhang Xin shot Su Ke a fierce glare, then gently extended a finger to stroke the bird's body, coaxing her like a child. "There, there. Be good, Little Green, don't cry."

"I'll teach this bad guy a lesson later and let him know that bullying our Little Green is wrong."

Under Zhang Xin's gentle comfort, Little Green gradually stopped crying, and the tears in her eyes faded. She shot Su Ke a small glare before slowly dissipating into the air.

The entire process was so fast that Su Ke stood there dumbfounded.

"Auntie, what exactly was that? How can something be that magical?"

Zhang Xin explained calmly, "That was an Elemental Spirit. They're extremely rare. Most people will never see one in their entire lives."

"They're also very difficult to tame and will only become a partner if they willingly choose someone. Being recognized by an Elemental Spirit is an incredible stroke of luck."

As she spoke, Zhang Xin placed her hands on her hips and lifted her chin proudly, her face glowing with triumph. The expression made her look mischievous and smug.

By this time, Wang Zhong and Lin Ning had already recovered and walked over. They naturally heard Zhang Xin's explanation.

Lin Ning asked enviously, "So Sister Xin, that was a Wind Spirit just now?"

"That's right. I went through a lot to obtain it in the Yao Realm."

Wang Zhong exclaimed, "The Yao Realm? That place is extremely dangerous!"

"It's not that exaggerated," Zhang Xin replied. "We entered through a small spatial gate. The Yao Beasts there weren't particularly strong."

"I did suffer some minor injuries, but the opportunity was worth it."

The Yao Realm was the world beyond the spatial rifts, the territory of Vicious Beasts.

Su Ke frowned. "Auntie, what kind of minor injuries? They won't leave lasting effects, right?"

Although he hadn't transmigrated for long, he had already read plenty about how dangerous the Yao Realm was. For ordinary people, entering it was basically a death sentence.

Zhang Xin waved her hand. "Don't worry. I know exactly how dangerous it is. I made thorough preparations before going in."

"You don't need to worry about this. When you go to university, you'll have to go in too. It's a compulsory course."

The three of them shouted in unison, "Ah!!!"

"What are you yelling for?" Zhang Xin said impatiently. "Have you forgotten the school's teachings?"

"Become Spirit Energy Users, cultivate into powerhouses, protect the land, and reclaim lost territory."

Su Ke asked, "Then why do we still have to go to the Yao Realm?"

"You idiot," Zhang Xin replied. "For resources, of course."

"Little Green was obtained from the Yao Realm. Our world's Spiritual Qi has only been revived for 500 years, and its concentration still can't compare to the Yao Realm."

"Many rare resources can only be found there. That's also why the Vicious Beasts are always one step ahead of us."

Lin Ning nodded slowly. "So that's why you go there. To obtain rare resources and grow stronger faster."

"Exactly," Zhang Xin said. "Once you enter university, if you want powerful resources and rapid growth, you'll be heading there too."
