Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: Mental Energy

Chapter 46: Mental Energy

After confirming that there were no issues with his body, Su Ke began experimenting with Ghostfreak's abilities. Ghostfreak's primary skills were Invisibility and Flight, allowing free movement through various environments.

He first passed through a wall to go outside, then used Invisibility to quietly approach a pedestrian. He suddenly appeared in front of the man, giving him a massive fright.

The man was so scared that he collapsed to the ground, and a large wet patch appeared on his pants. "I—I've seen a ghost! Ah!!! Mom!!!"

The man fled at the speed of Usain Bolt, drawing sideways glances from the surrounding crowd. 'I'm sorry,' Su Ke thought inwardly, feeling that he might have taken the joke a little too far.

Next, Su Ke tested another of Ghostfreak's abilities—Possession. He selected a person who was jogging and instantly possessed them.

That person immediately lost control of their body and could only move according to Su Ke's will. Su Ke manipulated their actions, making them do stretches, torso twists, jumps, and 30 jumping jacks.

"This person's form is really standard," someone commented. "They must have been a diligent student back in school."

"They could practically teach radio calisthenics at a school," another person added. Praise rang out from the surrounding onlookers.

By that point, Su Ke had already withdrawn from the possessed state. The jogger had no idea what had happened and simply assumed the crowd was admiring their form.

"Hey, young man, do another set for us. Your radio calisthenics are so textbook—we old ladies want to add them to our square dancing," someone called out.

"Huh???" The young man looked completely bewildered. "What radio calisthenics?"

Su Ke had no idea what happened afterward, as he had already floated back home.

When he reappeared, he saw Zhang Xin lounging on the sofa, drinking tea while playing on her phone. 'Hehehe, should I play a little prank?' A sly smile crept onto Su Ke's face.

His figure flickered as he floated straight toward Zhang Xin and successfully possessed her. However, the moment the possession completed, he was shocked to find himself in a strange cyan-colored space filled with gentle breezes.

"What is this place?" Su Ke wondered silently, preparing to explore it.

Before he could move, the surrounding winds surged violently, forming a massive storm that nearly tore him apart. Within the gale, a giant figure gradually took shape, looking almost identical to Zhang Xin.

The figure seized Su Ke tightly, and no matter how hard he struggled, he could not break free. Slap! Slap! Slap!!!

Without mercy, the figure struck him dozens of times, loud slaps ringing out as his head spun in dizziness. Finally, with a powerful throw, the figure hurled Su Ke out.

Su Ke crashed heavily onto the ground and was forced to deactivate his transformation. Zhang Xin stood up and walked over to him.

"Brat, did you really think you were invincible in that form?" she said coldly. "Did you think I wouldn't notice you?"

Su Ke rubbed his head, still feeling lightheaded, and struggled to stand. "Aunt, how did you do that?"

Zhang Xin replied calmly, "Judging from your abilities, that form of yours is more like a spirit. You can even possess and control others—so what, you thought you could control me?"

Seeing the dangerous look in her eyes, Su Ke hurriedly explained, "I wouldn't dare! I was just trying to play a prank. I didn't expect you to see through it."

Zhang Xin snorted. "You thought those little tricks could fool me? Your ability is powerful, but it's useless against someone with stronger Mental Energy than you."

"Mental Energy?" Su Ke asked. "What's that? I've heard Spirit-type Spirit Energy Users rely heavily on it."

With a serious expression, Zhang Xin explained, "Mental Energy is another form of power within the human body, and its applications are vast. People with strong Mental Energy think more sharply, have greater stamina, and operate Cultivation Techniques more efficiently."

"At the same level of talent, someone with higher Mental Energy absorbs Spiritual Qi much faster than someone with lower Mental Energy," she continued.

Su Ke nodded in understanding. "Oh, so Mental Energy assists with Cultivation?"

Zhang Xin shook her head with a smile. "Not just that. Mental Energy is extremely powerful. Even without being a Spirit-type Spirit Energy User, someone with sufficiently strong Mental Energy can achieve telekinesis or even kill without leaving a trace."

"For those who have Awakened Spirit Supernatural Abilities, improving Mental Energy is essential to increasing their power. It also greatly enhances control, allowing abilities to be used more precisely and effectively."

Su Ke's eyes lit up. "So when I curved the flames earlier, I was actually using Mental Energy?"

"Exactly," Zhang Xin said. "It's something even more profound than Spiritual Qi. If Spiritual Qi is an external force that strengthens the body from the outside in, then Mental Energy is an internal force that enhances strength from the inside out."

Su Ke asked eagerly, "Then how do I Cultivate Mental Energy?"

"It's too early for you," Zhang Xin replied. "You need to reach at least Rank 3 before you're qualified to Cultivate Mental Energy."

"For all of Huaxia, only the top 10 universities possess Mental Energy Cultivation methods, and Dijin University has the best one," she added.

Another reason to aim for Dijin University.

"Alright, it looks like I'll need to work harder than before," Su Ke said. "But before that…"

He stared at Zhang Xin with a mischievous grin once more.

"What are you planning now?" Zhang Xin asked warily.

"Hehe, just release your Wind Spirit for a moment," Su Ke said.

Zhang Xin frowned. "What are you going to do?"

"Just a small experiment. Don't worry, I won't hurt her."

With suspicion, Zhang Xin released her Wind Spirit. As soon as Little Green appeared, she happily flew around Zhang Xin's body.

The moment she noticed Su Ke nearby, she froze midair and glared at him angrily.

Su Ke didn't mind. He raised his Omnitrix and held it out toward Little Green.

"Little Green, come rest on this for a bit."

Little Green looked at Su Ke, then at the Omnitrix, then silently turned around and pointed her backside at him.

Su Ke: …
