Chapter 47 - Chapter 47 - First meeting with Aiden

Lucian, as always, was chained inside one of the remote caves, far from the eyes of the world.

His gaze was distant, mind adrift, until he heard footsteps echoing through the cave. Slowly, he turned toward the sound, and there they were—Luna and Yuna Ribouan, stepping quietly into the darkness. Luna approached him without a word and peeled the tape from his mouth.

Lucian was a shell of his former self—no arms, no legs, restrained, silenced. The tape had sealed his lips to prevent him from releasing any elemental power through his breath.

Now, able to speak, he looked up at the twin sisters and said bitterly,

"Well, well… The terrifying twins."

Luna crossed her arms, smirking. "If defeating you and your friends makes us terrifying, then I'll take that as a compliment."

Lucian chuckled weakly, though the pain in his voice was clear.

"It doesn't matter. Kill me if you want. I don't care anymore. My life is already over. The faction I gave everything to used me like a tool. My comrades are dead. One of them—she joined my enemies. I have no limbs left, just scraps of what I once was. I'll never live like a normal person again…"

"Stop whining for a second, Lucian," Luna interrupted coldly. "Let me tell you something."

"…Alright. I'm listening."

"We're taking you to a charitable organization. They'll care for you—given your condition. We even left you some money. You'll be able to use it if you need it. And… if you're lucky, maybe they can give you artificial limbs. Something to help you start over."

Lucian blinked in disbelief. He stared at them, stunned.

"Why…? Why are you doing this? Helping me start a new life? Aren't I your enemy?"

Yuna stepped forward. "Even if you are, we couldn't just look at your condition and let you rot. As you said yourself, the Fighter Division won't take you back. You're useless to them now. And without limbs, you can't survive on your own. So we had two choices: kill you, or send you somewhere you could be cared for. We chose the latter."

"…And what makes you think I won't come back for revenge? You were my enemies, after all."

Luna narrowed her eyes. "What exactly is your definition of an enemy or a friend, Lucian?"

"What do you mean?"

"You believed Warren and Shiro were your masters. You respected them, obeyed them, thought they were above you. But they betrayed you. Risked your life for their goals. And us—the ones you call your enemies—we could've killed you. We didn't. We already got what we needed from you. There's no reason to keep you alive. Yet here we are… helping you rebuild your life."

Lucian had no reply. Luna's words struck deep. He looked away, speechless.

Yuna continued, her voice softer.

"Let me tell you something—I don't know if anyone's ever told you this before. The measure of family, of friends and enemies… isn't blood, rank, or words. It's how they treat you. It's the truth in their hearts. Even siblings betray each other. And sometimes, someone who tried to kill you yesterday… will try to save you tomorrow."

Something shifted in Lucian's expression. As if a light flickered inside his heart—like a lock finally unlatched. He gave a broken smile.

"I… didn't know any of that. But I'll admit it… you surprised me, Ribwan twins. I never imagined you'd do this."

Luna shrugged. "It's better than killing you, isn't it?"

"Definitely."

"But if you ever come back to trouble us again, I will kill you. No hesitation. Don't forget that."

"I won't. You have my word."

"Alright then," Yuna said. "Let's get you to the charity."

The twins changed Lucian's clothes, tucked some money into his jacket, and carried him to a charitable institution—just as Luna had said. They left him at the doorstep, and vanished.

The staff at the charity quickly noticed him, brought him inside, and settled him in one of the facility's rooms to begin his care.

Meanwhile, Luna and Yuna headed to the location Milo had given William.

There, waiting at the edge of the forest clearing, were the rest of their teammates. The twins joined them.

Shortly after, four figures appeared—heirs of wonder stones as well. Milo was among them. The four approached Team Kaos with quiet confidence.

Milo extended a hand toward William.

"I see you came… and brought your team this time."

William nodded. "Yeah. These are my teammates. We call ourselves Team Kaos."

As the two shook hands, a young man stepped forward—raven-black hair, one eye blue, the other green. He smiled and spoke with calm authority.

"Nice name. Welcome, Team Kaos. I'm Lillian Aiden, leader of the Moon Division of the Fauvism ."

Merrick stepped forward. "An honor to meet you, Leader Aiden."

"Let me introduce you to the elite commanders of the Moon Division," Aiden said, placing a hand on Milo's shoulder. "This is Milo. I believe you know him already. He's one of our elite commanders."

Behind Aiden stood a man and a woman. Aiden gestured toward them.

"That's Melvin. And she's Tia. Both are elite commanders as well. Now then, it's your turn. Introduce yourselves."

Each member of Team Kaos introduced themselves. They explained Luna and Yuna's legacy—that they were the chosen successors of the legendary Tominako Reed.

The entire group then headed to the Moon Division's central headquarters. Once there, they were given a new base of operations. Everyone worked together to build the facility—each member receiving their own room. Since they were heirs of the wonder stones, they used their powers to finish construction in just two days.

Later that night, Jayden was lying on his bed, smoking a cigarette. A knock came at the door.

He stood and opened it. Tristan was standing there.

Jayden raised an eyebrow. "What do you want?"

Tristan chuckled. "Normal people say 'hello,' not 'what do you want.'"

"I'm not normal."

"Yeah, no kidding."

"Want me to slam the door in your face?"

"Alright, alright—I was joking. Chill."

"Come in, then."

Tristan walked in and sat on a chair. Jayden returned to his bed.

"So, what brings you here?"

"I came to ask if you've got a spare cigarette. I forgot to bring any."

Jayden handed him one. They lit up and sat in silence for a moment.

"So," Tristan asked, "what do you think of Leader Aiden?"

"Seems humble," Jayden replied.

"Yeah, I got that impression too. But did you notice something… strange about him?"

"You mean the energy aura? Yeah. It's massive. Feels like he has the strength of a hundred stone-heirs."

"Exactly. Makes you wonder… are Yossan and Murphy that strong too?"

"Probably. They're leaders, after all."

They talked for a while before Tristan stood and returned to his room.

Meanwhile, Luna and Yuna were exploring the new headquarters.

"It's really spacious," Yuna commented.

"Yeah, more than our old place. But honestly… I still like the old base more."

"Same here."

As they walked, they sensed a strong energy approaching. They turned.

Melvin was walking toward them slowly.

"Good morning , Mr Melvin," they greeted in unison.

"Hello," he replied. "So, you're the successors of Tominako Reed?"

Yuna : "That's right."

Melvin : "I want to see your powers for myself."

Luna : "Alright , Which one of us do you want to fight first—me or her?"

"I'll let you decide."

Luna turned to Yuna. "You want to go first, or shall I?"

"Go ahead."

Luna summoned her weapons—a metallic rod and the Starblade. Melvin revealed his weapon: an electric chainsaw.

Luna thought briefly of Tristan, who also used a chainsaw—but not like this one.

Melvin's weapon roared to life, crackling with lightning. He lunged. Luna countered with her Starblade, surging with flames, but Melvin overpowered her strike. He nearly slashed her, but she dodged in time. A bolt of lightning followed—she blocked with a gas-pressure barrier.

Melvin smiled. "I've forced you to fight using both of your elements."

"You're strong. That's why. But I haven't lost yet."

Luna fired her Starblade, now blazing, but Melvin deflected it. She teleported behind him, striking with her pressure-charged rod—but he wrapped himself in electricity and evaded, grabbing her arm and shocking her. Luna retaliated by guiding her Starblade to his back, grazing him and forcing him to let go.

Their battle was real, but not fatal. Neither aimed to kill. Just to test.

Luna attacked with sonic waves. Melvin blocked them with a lightning barrier. She teleported again, attacking with fire-charged blades—but he blocked with his chainsaw, then sent electrified metal shards from behind. Luna escaped just in time, but as she turned, Melvin was already upon her—chainsaw pressed to her forehead.

He had won.

Melvin deactivated his weapon.

"You've been defeated—but you're no ordinary opponent."

"Thanks," Luna muttered, catching her breath.

He turned to Yuna. "Your turn."

"Let's go," she said confidently.

Yuna fought fiercely, but in the end, she too was defeated. Melvin was a master warrior.

He gave both sisters advice and then departed. Luna walked up beside Yuna.

Luna : "He's seriously strong."

Yuna : "Yeah… but if we fought together, we could've beaten him."

"It's been a while since we did that."

"Don't worry. With the way things are going, more battles are coming. We'll fight together again."

"Definitely."

Together, they headed toward the building that held their rooms, side by side.
