Chapter 57 - Ch 57 - The Leaders' Summit

After Aiden and the twins arrived where Murphy and Yossan were waiting, Yossan spoke first.

"So, you are Lilian Aiden."

Aiden: "Yes, that's me."

"Interesting… you resemble your father a little."

"I'll take that as a compliment. And I suppose you're Yossan."

"That's right."

"I've never met you in person before, only seen you in pictures. But meeting face-to-face is something else."

While Yossan and Aiden exchanged words, Murphy was staring intently at Luna and Yuna. The twins noticed his strange look. What no one else saw were the tears that had gathered in Murphy's eyes before he quickly wiped them away. Then, with sharpness in his voice, he cut into the conversation saying to Aiden

"And what makes you think we won't just kill you here and now, you arrogant brat?"

Aiden: "Kill me? You can't."

"Really? Are you stupid? You may be strong but if I join forces with Yossan standing beside me, we can crush you completely."

"Thinking I'm stupid is exactly why your forces keep falling, why your losses grow. That's because of my intelligence. And for the record, I'm not alone. The Ribwan twins are equal in power to me, to you and to Yossan. That means we're balanced."

Murphy's face tightened with anger at Aiden's words. Yossan then added calmly:

"I also admit you're clever and we underestimated you before. But we're not here to fight. We're here to talk, according to the summons you sent us."

Murphy leaned closer to Yossan and whispered harshly:

"Why don't we just kill him now and end this farce? I don't care about foolish promises."

Yossan: "We can't. He's not alone—the Ribwan twins are with him. Their strength is equal to ours, so don't underestimate them."

"But I don't feel their energy is that strong."

"I'm not lying. My information is accurate."

Murphy turned back to the twins, and again those strange memories flashed in his mind, the same ones that had troubled him before when he looked at their picture . He shut his eyes tightly to block them out. Yossan noticed his distraction.

Yossan: "What's wrong?"

Murphy: "Nothing. Let's just finish what we came for—talking with this cursed boy."

Luna broke the tension with impatience.

Luna: "Are you two going to whisper all day, or what?"

Yossan: "No, Luna, we won't."

"So you can tell us apart? How clever "

"The large moles on your faces make it easy. But I do wonder—how did both of you get moles in different places like that?"

"That's none of your business."

Aiden: "Enough, everyone. Let me explain why we're here."

Murphy: "Do it quickly. I can't stand being here a second longer."

"Fine, I'll tell you."

Aiden explained to Yossan and Murphy about the proposal given to him by one of the Archive scholars

He clarified that they should agree to the idea of holding matches—matches that would decide which faction would rule the Fauvism and fill the golden cube slots, the key to saving their race of Stone Heirs.

When Aiden finished, Murphy snorted.

Murphy: "And you expect us to agree to this nonsense?"

Aiden: "Honestly, I expect nothing. I just wanted to tell you."

"Well, I refuse. This is the dumbest idea ever. Organized matches and the winner rules? I'd rather use my own way."

"Calm down."

Yossan: "As for me—I accept."

Murphy spun toward Yossan, glaring.

Murphy: "Have you lost your mind? Isn't it better to take control our way, instead of with ridiculous matches?"

Yossan: "No. This idea suits me."

"Wrong! Fighting with our methods is better!"

"And you already used your methods, Murphy. How did that turn out?"

Murphy froze, remembering his failures against Aiden, the great losses he had suffered.

Yossan: "That's my opinion. I don't care if you like it or not."

Murphy: "Damn you…"

Aiden: "Then it's settled. Yossan and I agree. As for you, Murphy—you don't participate. But after one of us wins, you'll become his subordinate whether you like it or not and everything you own will belong to him."

Murphy's eyes widened. He realized that if he didn't at least compete, he'd officially lose his authority—and his golden cube. Aiden's words made that perfectly clear, pushing him into a corner. Finally, Murphy growled in fury.

"Fine! I'll participate—and I'll win, you bastard. I swear I'll defeat you."

Aiden: "Do your best."

The Ribwan twins had stayed quiet through the discussion, only whispering to each other.

Luna: "Are they going to keep talking like this all day?"

Yuna: "Relax. We lose nothing by waiting."

" we lose time."

Bored, Luna sat down on the ground. Yuna followed her, resting her head on Luna's shoulder, while Luna rested her head on Yuna's. Murphy noticed them while still speaking to Aiden and Yossan and once again, strange memories flashed—an old man hugging him, a woman with her head bandaged handing him a bucket of nails, a person resting a hand on his shoulder as he sat.

The images struck so hard they gave him a splitting headache. Murphy cried out, drawing everyone's attention

Yossan: "Murphy, what's wrong?"

Aiden: "What happened?"

The twins ran closer too but Murphy suddenly surrounded himself with a fiery barrier, blocking everyone out as he clutched his head. He pulled out a pill from his coat, swallowed it with some water, and slowly calmed down. The flames vanished and he dropped to the ground.

Yossan hurried over, kneeling beside him.

Yossan: "I knew something was wrong with you. Tell me what's going on."

Murphy: "It's a long story, Yossan. You can't understand it in minutes. But don't worry—I took a painkiller. I'll be fine. Let's just finish talking with Aiden and leave."

Aiden, standing with the twins, commented quietly:

Aiden: "I noticed something about Murphy."

Yuna: "What did you notice?"

"That he's tied to—"

Yossan cut him off sharply.

Yossan: "Aiden, enough delays. Let's finish."

Aiden: "For your information, I wasn't delaying. But fine, let's continue."

The three leaders discussed more details, then parted, each heading back to his territory.

Aiden returned with the twins to where their craft had landed. The driver was waiting. They boarded, and the vehicle took flight, bringing Aiden back to his palace, while the twins were dropped off at their own base.

The next day arrived, and Kuro was returned to Yossan, Karaido and Tatsuka to Murphy, and the Moon Division prisoners were returned to Aiden

As for Joey, Aiden decided to leave his fate to Jayden. This time, Jayden decided not to kill Joey and showed mercy, asking Aiden to banish him to a remote area so he wouldn't cause trouble again. Joey was drugged and sent to a very distant country, to an oasis in a desert where some peaceful people lived.

Later The entire Kaos Team gathered to discuss the new developments

Jayden : "Hey guys what do you think about the matches? The ones they'll organize between us, the National and the Fighter divisions ? "

Yuna: "We're not sure yet. Aiden will explain once the Archive scholars give him full details."

Tristan: "So we just wait until he meets with Yossan and Murphy again?"

"Exactly."

"That's even more boring than guarding prisoners."

Merrick: "Enough complaining. Don't forget—our race's future depends on this. Take it seriously."

Chris : "Merrick is right. We must face this with courage and determination."

After the talk, everyone went off to their duties. The twins stayed in the base garden, speaking together.

Luna: "I still can't get over Murphy's collapse yesterday."

Yuna: "Me too. And… I also feel like I've seen Yossan a long time ago."

"What?"

"I'm not sure. Maybe it was someone who just looked like him and I got confused."

"Maybe. Or maybe not. There are so many mysteries we need to solve, Yuna."

"Yes. But we'll work together, so don't worry."

"I'm not worried."

"You're really annoying."

"You too."

They playfully nudged each other like children, then walked to the training grounds at the right side of the base, where the others usually practiced. There, they spotted Tristan and Jayden just leaving.

Jayden: "Hey, girls."

Tristan: "Hello, Luna. Hello, Yuna."

Yuna: "Hi Tristan, hi Jayden."

Luna: "Hello there ."

Tristan: "Did you come to train?"

Yuna: "Yes. Looks like you just finished."

"We did, but we can go back and train with you."

Luna: "You know you'll both lose against us, right?"

Jayden : "Maybe. But each of you must improve on your own. What if one of you gets hurt and you can't fight together or use each other's blood?"

Yuna: "You're right. We need to sharpen our individual skills too."

The twins entered the grounds with Tristan and Jayden. The guards welcomed them—they were familiar now, since Kaos Team had become well-known among the Moon Division.

The girls spent the rest of the day sparring individually with Jayden and Tristan and the two gave them some feedback

Not just that day—three whole days of continuous training. And with their friends' support, they finally began to improve their solo skills.
