Luna gave it some thought before deciding. Though her heart raced at the thought of leaving the king's side, the way she saw it, she knew every nook and cranny of the pack. She could easily blend with the crowd, giving her an edge over the king who had just arrived.
Looking back at the king with glittering eyes, she said, "I agree."
Draven's smile grew wider, his eyes assessing her expression. "All right then," he said with a wicked smirk. "Whenever you're ready, you can start." Draven hummed, and Luna gulped at the way the king stared at her.
Luna did not wait another minute for the king to change his mind. She held the front of her skirt with both hands before making her way out of the scaffold, hoping the king would not call her back and declare that it was a prank. She would really not forgive him then.
