At first, Eternal Meteor struggled a little—being held like that felt embarrassing.
But before long, it turned into the opposite.
She became the one who didn't want to let go.
Only after X's teasing laughter echoed in her head did she snap back to her senses. Her face burning red, she released Rudolf, spun around, and bolted for the bathroom—while Rudolf followed with a soft chuckle.
"I'll go clean up the bathroom first."
"I'll help."
Working together, the two of them had the entire bathroom looking brand new in just twenty minutes—sparkling so hard it was like someone had added special effects.
Then Meteor asked, "President… why did you suddenly come back to the dorm?"
"I wanted to talk with you about racing. But first, eat."
Rudolf immediately sat up from the bed and walked briskly to the doorway to bring the meal over.
As she passed the door she'd kicked open earlier, the odd sensation underfoot made her glance down.
The lock looked like it had been blown apart at point-blank range—bits and pieces scattered all over the floor.
And the door itself… the metal panel was actually slightly bent.
This was a stainless-steel security door.
It was hard to imagine how much force Rudolf had used.
Yet Rudolf only gave it a brief look and didn't care at all—there wasn't even a hint of regret in her expression.
A broken door was trivial.
Money and time could fix it.
What mattered was Eternal Meteor.
A door could be replaced anytime—even if she kicked one apart every day.
But if something happened to Meteor, there would be no "undo." No second chance.
I'll get someone to repair it later, Rudolf decided, then set the boxed lunch on the table.
When she pulled the containers from the plastic bag, she frowned slightly.
Even through the packaging, she could tell the food was only lukewarm now.
Of course it was—she'd come all the way from the cafeteria to the dorm, then spent time cleaning.
She was about to check whether her own portion was still warm so she could swap with Meteor—
But the moment Meteor saw there was food, she took the box, opened it, and started eating in big bites.
Meteor didn't care at all.
Having food was already a win.
If she worried about temperature, she'd just be wasting time that could be spent eating.
Rudolf watched as Meteor even pulled her supplements—calcium tablets and the like—from her pocket and swallowed them too.
Only then did Rudolf start tidying the table.
"President, I'll help too!"
Meteor had been sprawled across the bed, but seeing Rudolf cleaning made her feel awkward if she did nothing, so she got up to help.
After Meteor carried the trash downstairs to the bins and returned, Rudolf went to the bookshelf and pulled out a book explaining "serious development" (本格化). She handed it to Meteor.
"Skim this first. Once you have a basic understanding, we'll talk."
"Yes, sir."
Meteor pretended to read seriously.
Ten minutes later she closed the book, looked at Rudolf, and waited for the questions.
Rudolf asked gently, "So now you understand you shouldn't be racing yet, right?"
"Mhm."
"Then—"
"But I'm still going."
Rudolf had naïvely thought Meteor was finally being obedient for once.
She'd been nodding so nicely—only for that second line to slam the door in Rudolf's face.
Rudolf closed her eyes and rubbed her brow.
She genuinely couldn't understand why Meteor was so stubborn about racing before her serious development.
"Why?"
"Because I want to win. And because I can win."
"Meteor… you're too fragile to race right now. There's still plenty of time, isn't there? Wait until after you've developed properly. With your talent, you'll definitely become famous someday."
But as soon as Rudolf finished, Meteor's expression darkened again.
That same familiar stubbornness stared back at her.
Rudolf remembered the psychologist's words and hesitated.
Do I really let her race? The damage to her body could be huge.
But if I forbid it… will this little troublemaker do something even more terrifying behind my back?
The scale in Rudolf's mind tilted back and forth—
Until the psychologist's phrase, "use love," dropped onto one side like the final weight.
If refusing would lead to unpredictable disasters, then it was better to accept—set rules—and keep everything firmly under control.
"You can enter races," Rudolf said. "But you have to agree to a few conditions. Okay?"
Meteor nodded, and only then did Rudolf continue.
"First: try not to use running styles that injure your body. I know once you're on the track you'll want first place. But before you do anything reckless, think—really think. Because it will make me worry."
"Second: during training, you are not allowed to ignore your condition anymore. What happened before is absolutely forbidden. Absolutely. You will not do it a second time."
Just remembering that scene made Rudolf's heart seize.
The image of Meteor covered in blood had once become Rudolf's nightmare.
"Third…"
Rudolf deliberately dragged it out, stood up, and walked to Meteor.
Meteor swallowed and lowered her head.
Third is sometimes the worst one… Please don't make it something impossible.
In the deadly silence, Meteor suddenly felt a hand on her head.
Warm.
Gentle.
Softly stroking her hair again and again.
"Third: try to be happier. And eat properly."
"…Okay," Meteor said quietly. "I will."
