Chapter 34 - CH.33

"Speaking off messed up childhoods… Dumbledore was involved in creation of the current Dark Lord," Fred and George spoke up.

"Do tell," Harrion and Sirius said at the same time.

"Long ago, he was the deputy headmaster and therefore was in charge of delivering the letters.. He came to this impoverished orphanage where a wizard was in, and showed him that magic truly existed, and he was invited to Hogwarts.

"The said child didn't trust him, and was very interested in what Dumbledore had to say. He refused his help in going to Diagon Alley…"

"After Dumbledore showed him a few tricks, making Riddle feel comfortable enough that he told him that he was able to speak to snakes when he was about to leave… That tidbit of information caused Dumbledore to mistrust him."

"How do you know about this?" Harrison inquired, interrupting them.

"Back in our second year, we got into a little mischief… Dumbledore was supposed to meet with us, but he got so distracted by some affairs that he left his office in a hurry. He had a pensieve laying out, and we decided to take a look at what he had to offer and information about a student concerning Tom Riddle and some things about Grindelwald."

"Is there anything else you may know about Riddle?"

"We sadly couldn't find anything else as Dumbledore came back to his office, and tried to obliviate us about what we saw. He succeeded for a couple of months, before we broke the charms over the memories.

Sirius casted a tempus charm and saw that it was well past 2:30 in the morning.

"You three best be getting back in the castle… We don't want anyone to become suspicious, especially Dumbledore, or if anyone caught you walking through the corridors of the castle, this time of time would mean trouble."

Harrison nodded; he knew a certain blonde would have endless questions if he didn't appear in his bed. Luckily, it was a Saturday so everyone would be sleeping in, and getting caught up on any homework that they were slacking on. It would also be good to get some sleep, or at least try when the nightmares weren't at bay.

Fred and George grabbed Harrison by his arm as they apparated back to Hogsmeade. Harrison could see Hogwarts castle, its lights casting a faint glow against the otherwise black lake. They wandered past through the streets, passing a shop called Zunko's Joke Shop before stopping at a shop called Honeydukes. Fred pulled out his wand and whispered,

"Alohomora."

The door unlocked, and they walked in, with their wands casting a light for them to see. Harrison could see in the dim lighting of shelves and shelves of all kinds of candy. There were a few barrels next to the shelves that were filled with colourful beans-Every Flavour Beans and right next to it was Fizzing Whizzbees. The smell of candy and sweetness filled the room, and smelled appealing.

Fred and George didn't hesitate when they opened a wooden door, and walked down the wooden stairs. Empty wooden crates, and boxes filled the cellar, and dust was noticeable on the group's shoes as they walked until Fred stopped, using his sleeve to clear the dust that was on the trap door.

He pulled on the latch and walked down more stairs. This time, the stairs were longer, easily over two hundred steps which was easier going down, than upwards. The sweet smell of Earth, and the dirt coated the air, the temperature dropped drastically as Harriosn casted a warming spell on himself to prevent his teeth chattering, as they continued on.

At long last, they finally stopped at a stone barrier. Fred pulled out the map, and tapped it three times, saying the incantation that would reveal its contents. George held his wand closer as they studied the map. Harrison took a look at the map. There wasn't anyone on the other side of the statue, meaning that Professor Snape had headed back to the dungeons.

Harrison quickly located Professor Quirrell's name and right beside it was Tom Riddle. Interesting.

Fred concealed the map inside his cloak and tapped the statue three times and said,

"Dissendium."

The statue moved, and they walked onto the third floor. It was an otherwise empty corridor, and they split ways after that. Harrison quickly hurried down the stairs and into the chilling dungeons. He dodged the prefects who were still doing some patrol and walked into the unused dungeons where he knew that no one would be there.

His footsteps echoed on the stone as he walked until he got to the portrait, guarding the Slytherin Common Room, and entered inside the common room.
