Chapter 97 - Chapter 97 — Awakening the Guardians

The forest was alive with the hum of ancient energy, faint pulses of silver and gold threading through every tree, stone, and stream. Nyra and Kael stood atop the northern ridge, surveying the ruins below, their pack assembled and ready.

"The guardians are still here," Nyra said, silver aura flickering as she traced the residual energy. "Some sleep, some hide, and some may have been corrupted… but they can be awakened. Shadowfang must find them before the shadow forces regroup."

Kael's golden eyes glinted. "Then we divide. I lead a strike team to the eastern ruins; Nyra, you search the western glades. Fenrir and the scouts will cover the northern perimeter. We move swiftly and silently."

As they advanced into the western glades, Nyra felt the first pulse of guardian energy. A figure, massive and ethereal, emerged from the mist — a wolf-shaped guardian of silver light, eyes glowing like the Blood Moon itself.

"You have awakened me," it spoke, its voice a deep resonance in Nyra's mind. "The Blood Moon heirs return, and the balance stirs once more."

Nyra stepped forward cautiously. "We are Shadowfang. The shadow forces are returning, and the ruins' power must be protected. Will you join us?"

The guardian's gaze swept the forest. "I will aid those worthy of the Moon's strength. But beware — others have been corrupted. Not all guardians follow the path of balance."

Meanwhile, Kael's team approached the eastern ruins. Shadows lingered, but as Kael's golden aura flared, a guardian of bronze and fire appeared, shaking off centuries of slumber. Its eyes blazed, flames igniting the forest floor.

"I sense the threat," the guardian growled. "I will stand with those who bear the mark of the Blood Moon. But heed this — power attracts power, and the darkness grows stronger with every passing cycle."

Kael nodded. "Shadowfang fights for balance, survival, and legacy. Join us. Together, we can face what comes next."

Back at the central ruins, Fenrir reported that scattered guardians were stirring across the forest. Each guardian appeared differently — some wolf-shaped, some humanoid, some almost ethereal — but all were tied to the Blood Moon's ancient magic.

Nyra raised her hands to the sky, silver energy pulsing in harmony with the awakened guardians. "We are united. Shadowfang, our allies, and the guardians will face this darkness together. Let the shadows know — we are ready."

The Blood Moon blazed brighter, illuminating the forest and the newly awakened guardians. Shadows watched from afar, but the message was clear: Shadowfang had allies older than time itself, and the coming battles would be fought with every ounce of strategy, strength, and magic.
