Demos decided to gamble on the fact that he would get into the 3rd phase. To prepare for what the Practic test has in store, he used the rest of his money to prepay the room he was staying at for a week, and then he bought two books, one about the Mana Heart used by humans, and the basics of fire magic. Demos starts to read the Mana Heart book. Demos recaps in his head what he read.
Demos: "Mana, A source that everyliving thing has, from an ant to a mighty dragon, they all have mana. Those who can control mana first need to create a mana heart. A Mana Heart is where a person condenses mana on the opposite side and place of the person's heart. You can have a Mana Heart anywhere, but the easiest place is the opposite side of your heart. It is also possible to have many Mana Hearts in your body. To create a Mana heart, you first have to feel the mana that's all over your body. The mana in your body is wild and untrained, so you need to move and condense that mana in the place you want your Mana Heart to be. This is the first stepping stone to fully control your mana."
Demos closes the book and puts it on his bed, as he closes his eyes and focuses, he usally just focuses all his energy on one part of his body, as he does the same but he focuses on his entire body and after a while he feels a warm heat all over his body, as that heat is his mana, he tries to move it all in one point but is unable to do so, its like trying to condense a bucket full of sand, with your hands.
The Week flies by fast.
Day 1
With just learned about the Mana heart, Demos tries over and over again, but he can't do it; no matter how hard he tries to push his mana together, it never works.
Day 2
Demos tries and tries again, but it doesn't work; it just won't condense. Frustrated with the fact of trying to condense his mana, he decided to take a break and start to watch online videos. After he watches some, he stumbles on one about a non-Newtonian fluid called Oobleck, the more he wathces the more he thinks about his own mana. He puts the phone down and closes his eyes. Demos closes his eyes and feels the mana around his body as he tries to push it to condense as nothing happends, then he tries not push it forcefully but to ever so slightly push it, and to his surprise, it works. Just like the Oobleck, the more you add force, the stronger it gets, and the less force you add, the softer and more malleable it becomes.
Day 3
Demos has condensed over 50% amount of his mana, but the thing he learned is that the more he condenses it, the slower he has to condense it. Demos starts to try to move mana into parts of his body as its slower than when it was all over his body how ever the mana is stronger and more of it moves, in game terms when mana is spread all out over the body its like a dagger, weak but fast, but when it condenses and you move it, it becomes like a sword, heavier than a dagger but its also stonger than a dagger.
Day 4
80% of Demos mana has been condensed. Aside from training his mana, he has started to go to a free gym and train his entire body, as he wants to be in tip-top shape if he gets into the practical portion. Ever since he started condensing his mana, he has a lot more stamina as he doesn't get tired easily anymore, and while working out, he noticed he has gotten stronger. It's not just his stamina and strength that have increased, but his entire body and senses.
Day 5
A total of 90% of Demos mana has been condensed, nearing it being complete, and every time it condenses, his body and sense sliglty increase. He started reading his second book about the Basics of Fire Magic. Here is a quick recap of what he learned. Demos sits on his bed, right hand out, palm up, as he closes his eyes.
Demos: "First, imagine what you want to cast, A flame coming from my hand. Second, think of what characteristics it has: Hot, Destructive, Smoke, Ash, Burning,.... Beautiful, and the Third and last step, focus on steps one and two, and then move your mana to your hand...."
Demos opens his eyes as he sees a small flame like that of a candle floating above his hand. It may be a small flame, but a flame is still a flame.
Day 6
The Mana Heart was now fully formed, and as soon as he fully completed it, he felt a wave of energy and power go through his entire body.
Day 7
Today is the last day for him to get a message that he got it, as the day was getting later and later in the day, as it was getting dark outside, as Demos hasn't gotten a message yet as he falls back onto the bed staring at the ceilling, thats when his phone buzzes, he gets his phone and looks at it. As it's a message, he reads it out loud.
Demos: Congrats, you have qualified to take on the final test. However, due to recent news, you will automatically pass. Please come to the Address you will receive shortly.
After reading it, Demos felt amazing, all of his hardwork wasnt for nothing, he made it in, then he got the address along with another text that reads.
Demos: Come to the Address in 20 minutes
He quickly gets ready and heads out as fast as he can.
