prologue

Fifteen years before the tale begins, the world's greatest and mightiest empire, spanning from one pole to the other, fell. Its downfall came not from an external foe, but from within—born from its own oppressive and discriminatory rule. Among the oppressed was Liber, an orphan, who ignited a cataclysmic revolt to shatter the empire. His crusade found a powerful ally in the empire's primordial rival: the Tidtimus Dominion, led by the ruthless strategist Cuiris.

The dying empire was carved apart. The District of Kois broke free, becoming the sovereign state of Hisme. Toraat was seized and annexed by the Tidtimus Dominion. The District of Fuisi'kus was forced into a brittle independence by Tidtimus manipulation, emerging as the fractured nation of Tyusin.

From the ashes, two architects of the old order survived: Vis Gaka, the former Military Overlord, and Gis , the last Imperial Viceroy. Consumed by vengeance and a twisted vision of restoration, they forged a crucible from the remnants of the imperial war academies. Their purpose: to forge a new generation of blades. After three years of secret preparation, their institution was formally unveiled—the Sikharns Academy, a place where ghosts trained the living for a war yet to come.

Twelve years later, the academy's reputation is one of grim efficiency. Its halls are a pipeline to the Tyusin military, with 92% of graduates consumed by the ever-hungry war machine. Drawn by this promise of purpose—or perhaps annihilation—a young man named Riju steps through its gates. He seeks entry, unaware that he is not choosing a career, but signing a pact with the lingering shadows of a dead empire.
