Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 :The Cunning Ji Wuchang and the Five-Game Winning Streak.

Chapter 30 :The Cunning Ji Wuchang and the Five-Game Winning Streak.

Despite realizing that his roles as hunter and beast had been reversed with Ji Wuchang, Liu Tao didn't give up. He secretly gathered his soul power, his martial spirit poised beneath his feet, ready to launch a counterattack when Ji Wuchang attacked.

Of course, such naive thoughts couldn't escape Ji Wuchang's notice. Sighing at Liu Tao's lack of understanding, Ji Wuchang flew to Liu Tao's front, his martial spirit hovering directly in front of him.

"Closer, closer!" Liu Tao thought to himself.

"Heh~" Ji Wuchang grinned, his first soul ring flashing instantly. A flash of ghostly light, and Liu Tao froze, dumbfounded.

"Game over!" Holding the nameless longsword to Liu Tao's neck, Ji Wuchang waved to Dai Wenyun.

"This kid's got some interesting traits." Dai Wenyun glanced thoughtfully at Ji Wuchang, then loudly announced,

"The assessment is over! Team Seven, led by Ji Wuchang, has won!"

Ji Wuchang hadn't seen the two Lan sisters outside the arena; they had already vanished.

Meanwhile, Wang Kaixuan arrived at the arena with a gloomy expression. Not only had they gotten off to a bad start, losing their first match, but they had also been mocked by Ji Wuchang using the assessment results. They had completely lost face.

Despite this, as the captain, he couldn't just leave his teammates there.

Who knew that as soon as he reached Liu Tao, Ji Wuchang gave him a wicked smile. The dazed Liu Tao instantly snapped out of his daze. Seeing someone in front of him, before he could even see clearly, his body had already taken action for him:

"Swamp Spike!"

"Ah!!!"

Poor, tragic Wang Kaixuan hadn't even released his martial soul before being hit in the face by his teammate's soul skill.

He wasn't Dai Wenyun, who could withstand the attack of a two-ring Great Soul Master without releasing his martial soul. Tragically, he was directly blasted in the rear by Liu Tao's martial spirit.

...

"You brat, you went too far!" Dai Wenyun, hearing the scream, naturally knew what had happened. He glared fiercely at Ji Wuchang and quickly returned to the arena.

Seeing the somewhat eye-watering scene, Dai Wenyun's lips twitched.

Even he couldn't help but feel a little sorry for Wang Kaixuan. Offending such a cunning monster as Ji Wuchang was truly unlucky for him.

...

Today was the first day of the assessment, specifically designed to help students adapt to this type of assessment, with only one round of testing.

Therefore, after the assessment, there was no need for Ji Wuchang to linger here.

He had planned to go and mooch some grilled fish, but Huo Yuhao hadn't set up his stall at all today.

He ran back to his dormitory in a huff, not even having time to greet Mu En, and barged directly into Huo Yuhao's dormitory:

"So, you two, eating alone here!"

Sure enough, Wang Dong and Huo Yuhao were eating a freshly roasted chicken in their dorm room.

As a culinary master, although Huo Yuhao's roasted chicken couldn't compare to his roasted fish, it was still a treat for most people. This was especially true for a lazy person like Ji Wuchang!

"You didn't eat it all by yourself! Look, I saved some for you~" Wang Dong pointed to the nearly empty chicken, only bones remaining, and teased Ji Wuchang with a wink.

"You!" Ji Wuchang gritted his teeth, glaring at Wang Dong. If it weren't for his special status, he would have already taught him a lesson with his sword.

"Alright, alright, stop arguing. Why do you two start arguing as soon as you meet?" Huo Yuhao, trying to be the peacemaker, was exasperated.

"Wuchang, we initially thought you'd go with your teammates for some training, so we didn't think to prepare a portion for you. Who knew you'd come back so early? We're really sorry." Huo Yuhao said with a bitter face.

"I know, I know! Huo Yuhao, why don't you tone down your nice guy attitude? You don't owe anyone anything, no need to apologize all the time." Ji Wuchang scolded Huo Yuhao:

"Look how spoiled Wang Dong is, nobody can control him anymore!"

"Hey! Ji Wuchang, what do you mean by that!"

Wang Dong yelled from the side.

For a moment, the entire dormitory was filled with an incredibly energetic atmosphere.

Uh, well, this energy was a bit noisy.

...

Watching Ji Wuchang and Wang Dong bickering like crazy, Huo Yuhao suddenly felt like crying.

Although Ji Wuchang looked like a little kid, he had always taken care of him like an older brother.

And although Wang Dong occasionally threw tantrums, he was also very friendly to him.

In addition, there was Zhou Yi, who was strict but genuinely cared for him, and Bei Bei and Tang Ya, who brought him to Shrek Academy. The care these people showed him made him feel the warmth of a family, one of the few times since his mother's death.

I must cherish them!

Huo Yuhao secretly made a vow.

...

Time passed slowly amidst their bickering. Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong had already begun cultivating to prepare for tomorrow's assessment. Ji Wuchang, on the other hand, went to the back of the dormitory building.

Looking at the moon overhead, which was still quite round although it wasn't Mid-Autumn Festival, Ji Wuchang's thoughts drifted far away.

He wondered how his classmates, teachers, friends, his country, and his parents whom he had never met were doing.

The silvery moonlight shone evenly on the ground, but gradually gathered in the corners of Ji Wuchang's eyes.

...

"Why is there always this kind of oppressive feeling, the reason for which I don't know?" In a certain dormitory building, a figure in red, who had been sitting cross-legged on the bed, walked to the balcony. Looking at the moon in the sky, touching his heart, he seemed lost in thought.

...

"Father! You must believe me! They really are with the evil spirit master..."

"Shut up! If you dare to talk nonsense again, I will punish you with three years of confinement!" In a magnificent palace, a majestic man stood with his hands behind his back. He wore a dragon robe, exuding an imposing aura, his thick eyebrows furrowed as if he were troubled by something.

Behind him, a woman with a graceful figure but a haggard face knelt on the ground.

"Father!" The woman wanted to say something, but was directly interrupted by the man she called Father:

"Stop talking! As a princess, you have secretly become engaged to someone without my consent! And that person's identity is extremely special! This matter has already given me a lot of trouble. Tianhun and Douling have already sent two groups of envoys to demand an explanation from me!"

"If you continue to talk nonsense, I will have no choice but to take you away to report!"

The woman's body stiffened, and she collapsed to the ground as if all her strength had been drained.

After a long while, looking at the woman still lying on the ground, the man sighed helplessly:

"Someone, help the princess to her palace to rest."

Two palace maids entered the palace upon hearing this, helping the woman up from the ground, one on each side, preparing to take her away.

"Father!" Unexpectedly, the woman suddenly broke free and knelt on the ground again:

"I won't make things difficult for you regarding those matters, but my marriage must be decided by myself, and I will not compromise on this point!"

The man was silent for a moment, offering no clear answer, but simply waved his hand, signaling the maids to take the woman away.

Soon, only the man remained in the vast palace.

"You've gone too far this time!"

Suddenly, facing the empty palace, the man frowned and said.

No one responded to the man, as if he were talking to himself.

"Zhong Ming! I know you've come! Come out and see me!" Seeing no response, the man shouted angrily.

"Gah gah, Your Majesty, how have you been~"

Suddenly, a strange laugh rang out, a hoarse voice appearing in the palace.

Strangely, despite the immense noise, no one outside the palace could hear it.

"Do you even remember me as Emperor? My precious daughter was nearly killed by your men! If it weren't for a miraculous elixir, she would likely be dead!" the man roared.

"But I believe this isn't their fault. They were merely acting on Your Majesty's orders," a voice called Zhong Ming came from behind him. The man suddenly turned around; a man in black was standing beside him.

"So, you mean it's my fault?" the man asked in a deep voice.

"Of course not, Your Majesty. This was merely an accident. As long as you can control the princess, we can act again immediately!" the man in black said.

"No need! I still have a use for that person; he cannot be touched for now!" the man waved his dragon robe and sat down on the high dragon throne.

"Then?"

"Implement the next step of the plan first! The competition will begin soon, and we can't afford to arouse suspicion from the Shrek Academy members!"

"Also... send people to keep an eye on that person's every move. If they discover any potential threat to our plan, arrest them!"

The vast palace remained silent for a long time.

...

"Is it really worth it for a fiancé I haven't even met?" Looking at the bright full moon overhead, the woman sighed silently.

"I hope that prophecy wasn't wrong!"

A gentle breeze blew, the warm sun rose, and Ji Wuchang stretched and comfortably got up from the ground.

Yes, after moon-gazing last night, Ji Wuchang was too lazy to cultivate anymore and simply lay down on the ground and fell asleep. The temperature hadn't fluctuated much these past two days, so he wouldn't get sick.

It turned out his idea was right; apart from being a little damp from the morning dew, he didn't feel any discomfort.

But the thought of having to fight a bunch of kids again later gave him a terrible headache.

"Sigh... let's go, let's go, we can't be late again." He bought a few steamed buns at the cafeteria, swallowed them in a few bites, and hurried to the assessment area.

Luckily, he didn't linger on the way, and Dai Wenyun had already started taking attendance when he arrived.

Seeing Ji Wuchang arrive on time, Dai Wenyun didn't say much. After everyone arrived, the assessment began.

As for the final result, it was self-evident. Wang Kaixuan's team should have had an overwhelming advantage in this area. If Ji Wuchang had been replaced by another second-ring Great Soul Master, the two Lan sisters might not have been able to defeat them.

But unfortunately, they encountered Ji Wuchang!

The Wang Kaixuan team, with their overwhelming strength, cut through Ji Wuchang as easily as slicing melons and vegetables, and the other teams posed no threat whatsoever.

However, perhaps because they felt they had been slightly embarrassed yesterday, the two Lan sisters performed to their full potential today.

Simply put, they held off two opponents, leaving one for Ji Wuchang to finish off. Ji Wuchang readily accepted this fighting style, effortlessly dispatching his opponents and ultimately achieving a five-game winning streak by the afternoon.
