I stayed in the control room longer than I planned to.
Not because I didn't understand what I was looking at, but because I didn't like what it meant. Watching it once wasn't enough, so I ran it again, same time window, same entry points, same pattern. Different people, different movements on the surface, but the structure didn't change.
That wasn't coincidence.
That wasn't random.
That was controlled.
I leaned back in the chair, one hand resting against my jaw as I kept my eyes on the screen. If it wasn't tied to specific people, then isolating individuals wouldn't solve anything. It meant whoever set it up built something that could keep running even if one part of it got removed.
That made it harder.
It also made it smarter.
